2022 out look top 20

Post by noreply66 »

With 64 girl teams and 63 boys participating in track for 2021 I will make an attempt on a top 20 ranking for each. Starting with the girls first. This only includes this year's 10/11/12 graders that participated last season.

#20

This goes to the girls from Athens. They are from the TVC. I look for them to be down from what they usually are. Looks like they graduated seven girls that scored all their point in the district held at Marietta and placed sixth. In last year's TVC Invite their middle school finished first and could very well move them up the latter as the 2022 season moved along. They should do well in the 1600, 3200, Discus, Pole Vault and 4x800m. Athens will have one of the best 100/300 hurdlers coming up from the 8th grade in SEO. The Athens girls have two events where they are in the top five in an event, 4x8 and Pole Vault. Sarah Deering will get her share of points in the 3200.

#19

I will go with Fairland from the OVC. Fairland finished 12th at the district held at Meigs High School. Looks like they graduated three girls who earned points at Meigs. Their middle school finish 1st in the OVC meet. Looks like they should do well in the 400, 100h, 300h, 1600, 3200, Pole Vault and the 4x400. They also should move up as the season goes on with help coming up from a good MS team. Fairland will return all four runners from their district team in the 4x1, 4x200, 4x4. Fairland has talent but nothing in the top five of any event.

#18

River Valley from the TVC takes this spot. In the Meigs District they finished 9th and it looks like they only lost one girl that earned points. On paper it looks like they will do well in the TVC this spring. I can see them doing well in the 400, 100h, 300h, 1600, 3200, Pole Vault, 4x400. Their middle school girls finished in 5th place. Hard to say if they will get help from this area. Overall, it looks like the TVC will be down and this should allow RV to finish in the top 3 or 4. River Valley should have one of the best 800/1600/200m runner coming up along with a very good Pole vaulter. Four starters return from the 4x400. River Valley has two events where they will be in the top five, 1600 and 800. Lauren Twyman returns as a jr. and will be at the top in her events.

#17

Going to go with another TVC team here in Waterford. Waterford finished 5th at the Nelson/York District with only one girl graduating. The 2021 middle school team finished 12th in the TVC Invite. The 100m, 200m, 100h, 3200, High Jump, 4x800 looks like their best events. Waterford belongs to the TVC Hocking and will be pushing to win that for 2022. With the MS finishing so far down in the MS meet it seems like not much help is coming up. Look for Waterford to have a good 400, Discus, High jumper, long jumper coming in from the 8th grade Waterford will have a top five event in the 100 hurdles. Waterford will have Jaelynn Bosner in the 100h with a very good time. She also will run the 200 with a very good time.

#16

Adena from the SVC. Should be close to what this team put up last spring. Their middle school team finished 3rd in the middle school meet. Adena girls finished 2nd at the district at Nelson/York. Should bring in team points in all the field events and the 4x100. Adena did very well in the SEO as a Division 3 school. Adena will have a good high jumper, a couple long jumpers coming up Adena looks to be the only top 20 school to return all four district runners in all relays. Adena has three events where they will be in the top five, Discus, High Jump, Shot Put. Sydney Foglesong will be one of the top discus throwers. Adena also has Makaela Lovely that will add to the score sheet. Foglesong will come in to the 2022 season pushing 40 feet in the Shot.

#15

Going to put Westfall from the SVC here. Don't know if they will get much coming up from the MS team where it finished 6th. Westfall finished 10 at the Washington District and it looks like they only lost a couple of girls to graduation. Should do well in the 100h, 800, 1600, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump and Pole Vault. Westfall will return their four runners from the 4x200, 4x800. Westfall should score in the top five in the pole vault. Peyton Proffitt will be one of the best pole vaulters in SEO.

#14

Gallia from the OVC is not the team they use to be when they were in the SEOAL. Gallia finished in 6th place in their middle school meet. The district at Meigs had them placing in the 5th spot. Lost about four talented girls to graduation. Their times look good in all four relays and could put a lot of points up on four of the five field events. Gallia's 4x100 and 4x200 will have their four runners back from their district. Gallia has four events where they are in the top five. Discus, Pole Vault, Shot Put and 4x100. Gallia will return all their girls in the 4x1 with one of the best times in southeastern, Ohio. Chanee Cremeens will be one of the better shot putters in the area. Callie Wilson should be tops in the pole vault.

#13

Logan falls down a bit from 2021 after losing seven girls that put a lot of points in the books. They have some young talent, but can they and the incoming freshmen put them further up the list? If the young talent can help in the 800, 1600 and discus they will not stay in the 13th spot. They finished third at Marietta in the district which I thought was down in 2021. I look for them to be strong in the 400m, 100h, 300h, High Jump, Pole Vault and Shot Put. Logan should have some help coming up in the 200m, Discus, Shot put, and pole vault The 4x200 looks like the only event Logan will be in the top five. Logan will have one of the better 4x200 teams back. Also, will have Soph. Avery Porter returning, and will pick up points in about everything she does. She was the Marietta District champ in the 400 for 2021. Tavi Smith will get her share of points in the 300H. Zoe Sater will be heard from in the pole vault.

#12

The SHAC has this spot with Fairfield. The middles school took the 4th spot in their meet. Didn't finish too high at the Meigs District at 12th. Didn't lose much to graduation, maybe three girls. The longer races will be Fairfield weakness in 2022. The 400, 100h, 300h, and three of the field events is where this team will shine. The 4x1,4x2 and 4x4 will have all four runners back from the district. Doesn't look like Fairfield is in any top five of an event. Soph Faith Donley will be there in the 800M. Fairfield will have a 4x400 team with four runners back and their time is very good too. Fairfield will have a good shot putter in Paris Priest

#11

The SOC has this one with Waverly. Their middle school placed third in their meet. Waverly placed 7th at the Washington District and lost only a couple of girls from 2021. Doesn't look like they have a lot of speed but should be good in the 300h, 1600m, High Jump and Shot Put. Most points will come from finishing in the middle of the event. Waverly is in the top five in the 1600. Should hear a lot about Olivia Cisco.

#10

The top 10 will start with Miami Trace from the FAC. At the Marietta District Trace finish in 8th place and lost around eight girls to graduation. Going to have several events where they will struggle for points, but should do well in the 300h, Discus, Long Jump, Shot Put and 4x200. Middle school finished 4th at the FAC meet.
Going to have to have some girls do the max events. Trace will have their four runners back in the 4x1 and 4x200. Miami Trace will be in the top five of the 300 hurdles. Jana Griffith returns with one of the top 300 times in the SEO. Miami Trace will have Libby Aleshire and Lilly Workman in the Discus. Aleshire will also do well in the shot put.

#9

Warren SEO. Finished 3rd at the Meigs District. They only lost three girls but those three were some of the best. In a big meet they will be able to score in 75% of the events and very well in the 100h, High Jump, Shot Put, 4x400 and 4x800. Warren is a team that starts out slow and their coaches build them into a solid team at the end of the year. Warren will be getting a couple 400m runners, shot putter, and pole vaulter Warren will return all four runners back on the 4x1. Warren should be in the top five in four events,High Jummp, 4x2, 300 hurdles and 4x4. Lily Harriott returns as a Sr. and will be hard to beat in her events. Warren will have one of the better shot putters in Jayden Vannoy.

#8

Going back to the SHAC on this one with North Adams. Their middle school finished 2nd in the SHAC meet. North Adams came in second in the Northwest District meet. Looks like they hardly lost anything from 2021.
Looks like North Adams would like the incoming freshmen to help with 200m, 800m, PV, 4x800. Should have no problem scoring in the 300h, 1600m, 3200 and the long jump. The 4x2 and 4x4 will return from the district. North Adams is in five events where they are in the top five. Sierra Kendall could have the best time returning for the 2022 season in the 300H. Myla Toole has one of the top 3200 time in the area. NA has one of the better long jumpers in SEO returning in Sierra Kendall.

#7

The girls from Marietta sit in the number 7 spot. Marietta finish 4th in the Div. I District at Marietta. Lost three girls from graduation which included Space. Even with Space gone Marietta will still do well in the distance events. They will need lots of help in the hurdles, 800 and Pole Vault. Big points should come from 100/200, 1600, three of the five field events and the 4x4/4x8 relays. Marietta will be getting a good high jumper, shot putter, Marietta has the top four runners back in the 4x1 and 4x2 from the district. The long jump, 4x8 and the 4x4 sees Marietta in the top five. Sadie Gray will get her points in the 200 meters along with the long jump. Kirsten Kroft will put some points in the books too.

#6

The third team from the SVC to crack the top 20 is Unioto. Unioto took the Washington District and only lost three girls from 2021. The middle school girls took the number four spot in the conference meet. Will have five events where they will be down in for 2022, both hurdles, and three field events, Discus, High Jump and Pole Vault. Should be strong in the 100/200, 1600 and 4x1. Unioto should be getting help in the 1600, 800, This team will have their 4x1 team back from the district. Unioto has the 100M, 4x1, 200M, 3200 and 4x8 where they are in the top five. Paris Debord returns, and we will hear her name a lot when Unioto is in the house. Indy Spetnagel will show up in the score books. Unioto will also return all four runners in the 4x100 which has one of the better times in SEO.

#5

First of the top five will be a Mid-State school of Circleville. Circleville didn't finish too far behind Unioto at Washington, and I do not think they lost anyone. Circleville might be a team that is split down the middle when scoring in each event. Might not be any middle of the road events. Either high scoring events or not getting any points. They have a few events where they will place two girls in the top 4/5. Circleville will do well with help in the 100h, 1600, shot put, The 4x1, 4x2 and 4x4 all return for Circleville. Roundtown is in the top five in four events, 4x2, 400, 4x800 and two in the 200. Circleville will have Faith Yancey and Lily Winters bring a lot of points. Along with Addison Lowe, Ellie Patrick. Circleville will have one of the best 4x200 teams with all four returning.

#4

This comes from the FAC with Chillicothe. The middle school girls finished in 5th place in the 2021 meet. Chillicothe didn't have a strong showing in the Div. I district at Marietta finishing in the 7th spot. They lost several girls to graduation. Probably will need some help in the 200m, 400 and the Shot Put. Will do very well in the 100h, 800, 1600 and the 4x800. Chillicothe has girls coming up in the 400, 200, The 4x1 will return for the Cavs. Chillicothe has two events where they are in the top five. Chillicothe will have Jacey Harding in the Hurdles. Paige Huggins will be showing up when it comes to the 200 meters. Katherine McCallum will be heard from in the 3200.

#3

This also goes to the FAC in Jackson. Probably the best Jackson team in a long time. Jackson will have some events where they will not make a showing and then others will be very strong, which will allow them to be near the top in most meets. Their middle school had a poor showing at the conference meet coming in last. Jackson came in 4th in the Meigs District. Lost a few girls from 2021 but shouldn't hurt too much. Look for them to do well in the 100m, 400, 100h, 800, 4x400. Jackson is one of the schools where they do not have the Pole Vault. Girls from Jackson will add to the 400, Jackson will have all four back in the 4x1 and 4x2. The 400, 800 and 4x4 are the events where Jackson is in the top five. Jackson will have Olivia Kennedy back and she will usually win the events she will be in.

#2

Fairfield Union out of the Mid State takes the second spot. Fairfield Union is down somewhat this year and still is near the top. The girls from Lancaster finished in the number two spot at the Meigs District. They lost close to a half dozen girls that score a lot in 2021. High jump looks to be the worst even for them and just might not score in the event too often. Should be strong in the 200m, Pole Vault, Shot put and 4x400. 4x1 will return in 2022. Fairfield Union is in the top five in the Pole vault, 4x8, 400, 3200 and the 4x4. Sarah Lepi will be a soph. and will bring a lot of points to the score sheet. Andrea Phillips will be one of the better girls in the 3200.

#1

Out of the OVC come Dawson-Bryant to take the top spot. DB won the Northwest District and just about has everyone back. Middle school didn't do very well in the Ohio Valley conference meet finishing in 7th. High Jump, Long Jump and the 4x800 will be down. Strong events for DB are 100/200m, 400m, 100/300h, 1600. Discus and 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays. Like to see Dawson-Bryant get into meets with some of the bigger schools this season to show how the division 3 school can do. As far as the SEO I think they can beat them all. DB will have their 4x1, 4x2 and 4x4 back from the district. Dawson-Bryant is my favorite with eight events where they are in the top five,100M, 4x2, 4x1, 400, 300H, 800, 200 and the 4x4. Soph Kylie Montgomery has one of the best times in the 400. DB will have Kylee Thomas and Maddie McDaniel in the 300h with both running a sub- 50.00. Laura Hamm will be one of the first coming in for the 800M. Kylee Thomas will also be big in the 200M.
Dawson-Bryant will have three soph and a SR. running their 4x400 pushing the 4:00.00 mark.

As I mention in the Jackson review, they don't have the pole vault. Most school if not all from the SHAC and SOC don't have the pole vault. Any team has a chance to pick up one to 18 points in each event where you have in the area of 8 plus team competing.

Welcome any input from now to when the season starts in last March

Boys

#20

Gallia from the OVC finished 6th at the Meigs District and the middle school team finished 7th. Lost in the area of 5 to graduation. Their best event looks like the 100 meters. Up against the other teams in the top 20 Gallia won't do too good. Gallia will have the 100 meters and long jump where they are in the top five going into this spring. Daunevyn Woodson will get big points in anything he does.

#19

Whiteoak is from the SHAC, and they finished 2nd at the Northwest District. Their Middle school finished 1st in the conference meet. Only lost a couple from 2021. Will need to improve in the 100m, 1600, 400, 300, 200, 3200. Field events will need to get stronger. Should do well in the relays. Whiteoak could get help in the 1600, Whiteoak looks to have all four relay members back from the district. Whiteoak will be a team where they can score in a lot of events but nothing near the very top.

#18

Miami Trace finished 7th at the Marietta District and 5th in the FAC middle school meet. Team lost a lot from graduation. 800,1600 and 3200 will need to find some runners. 4x400 and the 4x200 will need to improve. The 100m, 300h, look good. Miami Trace should have all runners back in the 4x1. Jadon Rowe will score a lot and M.T. 4x200 will be good.

#17

Another FAC team is Jackson. They finished 5th at the Meigs District losing 3 to graduation. The middle school did very well at the MS meet finishing 3rd. Jackson will do very good the first half of any meet, but things are looking like it will start going downhill with the 800m. Jackson will have help coming up in the 1600, 400, 800, long jump, The Ironmen will have a top five in the 400 meters. Nate Woodard can put points in the books.

#16

The SOC takes this spot with Wheelersburg. They finished in the 14th spot at Washington District. Didn't really lose much but will need help in seven events. The hurdles will hurt them. Most of the field event will come through for them. Burg is bringing up 400, 800, All four members of the 4x8 will be back. Wheelersburg probably won't have any one in the top five of any events but will have plenty of boys picking up points in most events. Burg will have a very good 4x200 team

#15

Athens TVC finished 2nd at the Marietta District. The middle school finished 2nd in the TVC invite. They lost a ton of 2021 points to graduation. Still have boys that were good, but just didn't get to show it with the big senior class in 2021. Will be down in 10 of the main 17 events. They should go head-to-head with Nelson/York this spring in the TVC meet. Athens will have 8th graders coming up in the 110, 300, 200,
Athens will have one boy in the top five of the seventeen events, but will pick up plenty of points in a lot of events. Athens top event will be the 400.

#14

North Adams from The SHAC takes this spot. They finished 7th at the Northwest District and the boys middle school team finished 2nd in their meet. I can see them having seven events where they might not score in meets with better teams. 1600, High Jump, 3200 will be their best events. The 4x1, 4x2, 4x4 will have everyone back. North Adams will have three events where they are in the top five, 4x4, 800, 100 meters. Myla Toole will be back in the 1600.x400 will be good plus Cody Hesler will be strong in the 800.

#13

Adena from the SVC should finish here. This team won the Nelson/York District. Didn't have too much graduating and the middled schoolboys finished in 3rd in their meet. High Jump should be strong along with the 3200m. Both hurdle's teams will be down along with the sprints. Field events should be about half and half.
Adena is getting boys in the 300, shot put The 1600, 300 hurdles and High jump have boys in the top five of those events. 4x100 and 4x200 will win most meets. Ryan Richendollar will be strong in the 800 and 1600. Kayden McWhorter looks good for the 300 hurdles and Lucas Ray will get his points in the High jump.

#12

Fairfield Union from the Mid-State gets the 12th spot. Fairfield traveled to the Meigs District and left with 2nd place finish. This team also lost a lot to graduation. The 3200 and Pole Vault looks to be their best events. The other four field events will need some work at bigger meets. Fairfield Union should have all runners back from last year's district in the 4x1. Not many of the boys from Fairfield Union will be in the top five of the seventeen events, but they look to be solid. Marcus Runkle in the 1600 will be good. Aaron Tripp looks good in the Pole Vault.

#11

The SVC will take the 11th spot with Zane Trace. ZT finished at the 4th spot at Washington's District. Middle school finished 2nd at the SVC meet. Sprints will be down. Also, should do well in the 4x800, Shot Put, Discus, Pole Vaults. ZT will find it hard to score in most of the middle events in a meet. After the 4x100 it will be difficult to score in big meets. ZT should have two good 400 runners coming up along with 200m, long jump, shot put, pole vault ZT will have their 4x8 team back. Zane Trace will have 4 events where they have in the top five, 4x8, 300 hurdles, shot put and discus. Charley Clyne will be there in the 300 hurdles, Discus will have Nalin Robinson and Noah Fetters.

#10

The TVC is next with Nelson/York. They finished 4th at their district while the Middle school finished 7th at the TVC Invite. The Buckeyes didn't graduate too much from 2021. Relays and 800/1600 are the weak spots. They will be very strong in the field events. Nelson/York has help coming in the 110, The Buckeyes will line up everyone from last year's district in the 4x2, 4x4 and 4x800. The Buckeyes have three events where they are in the top five of those events. 200M, Long Jump and High jump. 4x800 team could be good, Makhi Williams should shine in the 100m and 200M, Keagan Swope looks good in the 400, 4x400 should do well. Myles Cordray just might have a real good year in the pole vault.

#9

Portsmouth from the OVC is next. The Trojans finish 6th at the Washington District. The middle school finished 5th in the OVC meet. Most everyone will return. They should do well in 13 events with Shot Put, Discus, 400 and 300 hurdles their low spots. Portsmouth has a runner in the top five in the 100 meters. 4x100 will be tough, Dante Hamrick will do good in the 100m, Charlie Putman will put up some points in the 1600.

#8

Northwest from the SOC takes this spot. The boys took the district championship at Washington along with their MS taking 4th at the SOC meet. They did lose seven talented boys to graduation. This year they might struggle in the Hurdles, 100, 400 and [Pole Vault]. All other events will have them in good shape. Northwest has the 3200 and 800 where they are in the top five in 2022 returns. Mason Breech will get his points in the 800 along with Kailan Marshall in the 3200.

#7

Rock Hill from the OVC is at number seven. They took third at the Meigs District and their middle school team came in 8th at the conference meet. Lost very little with the 2021 class. Hurdles, Discus and 400 will be the events they will need to work on. 4/200, 4x100, Long Jump, High Jump, 200 should be their strongest events.
Rock Hill has two events where they are in the top five, 4x1 and 800. 4x100 will rack up some wins along with Sam Simpson in the 800/1600.

#6

The FAC will have Chillicothe at the 6th spot. The Cavs were the 5th place team at the Marietta District. Middle school came in 2nd at their meet. The Cavs lost about a half dozen boys. Chillicothe's biggest loss were from the field events, three of them along with the 800 and 1600 will need the most help. 4x200 4x100, 400, 200 and the 4x400 look to be the strongest events. The Cavs will get some help in the 110, 200,
Chillicothe will have three events where they are in the top five, 4x2, 4x1 and the 200 meters, where they have a good chance to have two. 4x100 and 4x200 could be the best in the area, Mamo Willison and Xzavier will put up points in the sprints.

5

Warren SEO, Finished 1st at the Meigs District. Warren didn't lose too much but the ones they did lose scored big points. The 4x100, 300h, High Jump, 200 and Pole Vault took a hit. Warren won't have to get help in some of these events because they will do some moving around. It might reduce some scoring in other events, but their coaching is good and will always fill spots. Their 4x800, 1600,800, Long Jump, 400, Discus and 4x400 will be their best events. 3200 might be a question. The runners are there but will the best go to other events. Seems like Warren always has good runners in the 4x8, 800, 1600 and 3200. Might not have as many this spring, we will just have to wait and see. With the track finished we should see early what they have with their early spring meet. Incoming freshmen that look good will be in the 100, 200, Warren is in the top six of seventeen events, 4x8, 4x4, 3200,1600,800 and 400. 4x800 will always be good along with the 4x400, Brennan Perdue will get his points wherever they have him but look mostly in 800/1600, Andrew Vincent will do well in the 400, Bryson Angelo will win his share of 3200m, Dennis Pettey will do well in the discus.

#4

Dawson-Bryant OVC, DB finished first in the Northwest District and their middle school took 3rd in the OVC meet. Didn't lose too much to graduation. Looks like the 4x800, 1600 and 3200 will be hurting some this year.
Should do well in the 110h, Shot Put, 400, against any team. The rest of the events will bring plenty of point.
Dawson-Bryant will return all runners back in the 4x1 and 4x2. Dawson-Bryant will go into this year with 6 events where they are in the top five, 4x800, 4x4, 4x2, 400, Shot Put and discus. Dawson/Bryant will return all four of their 4x200 team with a top time in the SEO. The 4x100 will also return four runners with a top SEO time. Dawson-Bryant will put points up in just about all relays, Chase Hall looks good in the 110h, Elijah Dillon
will win a lot of 400m, Perry Kingrey looks good in the discus, Landon Roberts will win a few pole vaults.

# 2&3

Unioto and Logan are too close to pick. They could go against each other on a Tuesday then come Saturday the other could win. Unioto finished 6th at the Washington District and the MS took 1st at the SVC meet. They didn't lose much to graduation either. Unioto will be down in some events like the 100, Shot Put, Long Jump, 400 and 300h. They will make up for it in the other events like 4x800, 800, 1600 and 3200 where they just might have the best in SEO. Logan Finished 4th at the Marietta District and only lost about 5 points to graduation. Logan's not strong in the 800, 1600, 3200 and the 4x800. The field events will carry Logan this spring. Also, could do well in the 110h, 4x100, 4x200. Has long as Unioto and Logan don't have to go up against the top ten in SEO every week they will score high. Unioto will have 300, long jump, pole vault boys coming in that can step in for depth. Logan will have help in the 100m where they have the fastest time in SEO coming in plus two more boys running near 12.0, 110, 200, Discus, long jump, shot put,
The 4x1, 4x2, 4x4 all return in 2022 four Unioto. Logan will have four back in three relay teams,4x1, 4x2, 4x800. Unioto has five events where they are in the top five, 4x800, 3200,1600, 200 and 300 hurdles. Logan will also have five events where they are in the top five, 4x2, 4x1, High Jump, Shot put and Discus. They will have two boys in the top five in the shot put. Cameron Lohnes will be there in the 200m, Gabe Lynch be strong in the 1600 along with Cory Schobelock in the 3200, Don't count them out in the 4x800. Logan will be strong in the 4x100 and 4x200, Abe Belcher will add the points in the 110h, High jump, Trey Robotyn should do well in the pole vault and 300h, the discus will have Taten Poling and Carson Hodson at the top in most meets, High jump will have Kohen Maynard too, Shot put will see Kelton Arledge and Taten Poling near the top.

#1

Waverly SOC... Waverly finished 12th at the Washington District and the middles schoolboys finished in the 3rd spot at the MS meet. They only lost a couple boys from 2021. Looks like their depth will help them this year. A few of the field events could hurt them if they get into a close meet. Most points should come from the 110h, 100M, 4x200, Shot Put, 4x100, 400, 300h, 3200. Those seven events could have two boys placing in the top 8 finishes at larger meets. In most meets Waverly will have the meet put away after ten events. Three out of the last seven events could slow them down and if they run into a team that is strong in the last events just might catch them. Waverly will get help in the 1600, 800, Waverly will have all four relay members back. Waverly will be in the top five of five events come this spring, 4x8, 4x4, 4x2, 100M, 110 hurdles.
Alex Stoller will be good in the 400, Cai Marquez in the 110, 4x200 is strong. Waverly looks like a team that will put points on the score sheet in about every event. They will probably run away with small meets but when they go up against the top 5 to 10 in SEO the meets will be close.

Counting the Boys and Girls conferences go as this

The SHAC consist of 17/18 teams and has 4 teams in the top 40

SOC having up to 22 teams had 4 teams

TVC has 5 teams coming from around 23 teams

FAC has 12 teams and 6 are in the top 40

SVC put 6 teams in the top 40 from 16 teams.

The OVC has 16 teams and 7 made the top 40

The Mid-State had 10 teams in and 3 made it

The SEO others had 6 teams and 5 made it.

I'm having a little trouble getting some school incoming freshmen due to their meets not having a grade listing.

#20

This goes to the girls from Athens. They are from the TVC. I look for them to be down from what they usually are. Looks like they graduated seven girls that scored all their point in the district held at Marietta and placed sixth. In last years TVC Invite their middle school finished first and could very well move them up the latter as the 2022 season moved along. They should do well in the 1600, 3200, Discus, Pole Vault and 4x800.

Over all it looks like the TVC will be down and this should allow RV to finish in the top 3 or 4.

#14

Gallia from the OVC are not the team they use to be when they were in the SEOAL. Gallia finished in 6th place in their middle school meet. The district at Meigs had them placing in the 5th spot. Lost about four talented girls to graduation. Their times look good in all four relays and could put a lot of points up on four of the five field events.

#13

Logan falls down a bit from 2021 after losing seven girls that put a lot of points in the books. They have some young talent, but can they and the in coming freshmen put them further up the list? If the young talent can help in the 800, 1600 and discus they will not stay in the 13 spot. They finished third at Marietta in the district which I thought was down in 2021. I look for them to be strong in the 400m, 100h, 300h, High Jump, Pole Vault and Shot Put.

#9

#7

The girls from Marietta sit in the number 7 spot. Marietta finish 4th in the Div. I District at Marietta. Lost three girls from graduation which included Space. Even with Space gone Marietta will still do well in the distance events. They will needs lots of help in the hurdles, 800 and Pole Vault. Big points should come from 100/200, 1600, three of the five field events and the 4x4/4x8 relays.

#6

The third team from the SVC in crack the top 20 is Unioto. Unioto took the Washington District and only lost three girls from 2021. The middle school girls took the number four spot in the conference meet. Will have five events where they will be down in for 2022,both hurdles, and three field events, Discus, High Jump and Pole Vault. Should be strong in the 100/200, 1600 and 4x1.

#5

First of the top five will be a Mid-State school of Circleville. Circleville didn't finish too far behind Unioto at Washington and I do not think they lost anyone. Circleville might be a team that is split down the middle when scoring in each event. Might not be any middle of the road events. Either high scoring events or not getting any points. They have a few events where they will place two girls in the top 4/5.

Jackson is one of the school where they do not have the Pole Vault.

#2

Fairfield Union out of the Mid State takes the second spot. Fairfield Union is down some what this year and still is near the top. The girls from Lancaster finished in the number two spot at the Meigs District. They lost close to a half dozen girls that score a lot in 2021. High jump looks to be the worst even for them and just might not score in the event too often. Should be strong in the 200m, Pole Vault, Shot put and 4x400.

#1

Out of the OVC come Dawson-Bryant to take the top spot. DB won the Northwest District and just about has everyone back. Middle school didn't do vey well in the Ohio Valley conference meet finishing in 7th.

As I mention in the Jackson review they don't have the pole Vault.

There best event looks like the 100 meters. Up against the other teams in the top 20 Gallia won't do too good.

#19

Whiteoak is from the SHAC and they finished 2nd at the Northwest District. Their Middle school finished 1st in the conference meet. Only lost a couple from 2021. Will need to improve in the 100m, 1600, 400, 300, 200, 3200. Field events will need to get stronger. Should do well in the relays.

#18

Miami Trace finished 7th at the Marietta District and 5th in the FAC middle school meet. Team lost a lot from graduation. 800,1600 and 3200 will need to find some runners. 4x400 and the 4x200 will need to improve. The 100m, 300h, look good.

#17

Another FAC team is Jackson. They finished 5th at the Meigs District losing 3 to graduation. The middle school did very well at the MS meet finishing 3rd. Jackson will do very good the first half of any meet but things are looking like it will start going down hill with the 800m.

#16

The SOC takes this spot with Wheelersburg. They finished in the 14th spot at Washington District. Didn't really lose much but will need help in seven events. The hurdles will hurt them. Most of the field event will come through for them.

#15

Athens TVC, finished 2nd at the Marietta District. The middle school finished 2nd in the TVC invite. They lost a ton of 2021 points to graduation. Still have boys that were good, but just didn't get to show it with the big senior class on 2021. Will be down in 10 of the main 17 events. They should go head to head with Nelson/York this spring in the TVC meet.

#14

North Adams from The SHAC takes this spot. They finished 7th at the Northwest District and the boys middle school team finished 2nd in their meet. I can see them having seven events where they might not score in meets with better teams. 1600, High Jump, 3200 will be their best events.

#13

Adena from the SVC should finish here. This team won the Nelson/York District. Didn't have too much graduating and the middled school boys finished in 3rd in their meet. High Jump should be strong along with the 3200m. Both hurdles teams will be down along with the sprints. Field events should be about half and half.

#12

Fairfield Union from the Mid-State gets the 12th spot. Fairfield traveled to the Meigs District and left with 2nd place finish. This team also lost a lot to graduation. The 3200 and Pole Vault looks to be their best events. The other four field events will take some work at bigger meets.

#11

The SVC will take the 11th spot with Zane Trace. ZT finished at the 4th spot at Washington's District. Middle school finished 2nd at the SVC meet. Sprints will be down. Also should do well in the 4x800, Shot Put, Discus, Pole Vaults. ZT will find it hard to score in most of the middle events in a meet. After the 4x100 it will be difficult to score in big meets.

#10

The TVC is next with Nelson/York. They finished 4th at their district while the Middle school finished 7th at the TVC Invite. The Buckeyes didn't graduate too much from 2021. Relays and 800/1600 are the weak spots. They will be very strong in the field events.

#9

Portsmouth from the OVC is next. The Trojans finish 6th at the Washington District. The middle school finished 5th in the OVC meet. Most everyone will return. They should do well in 13 events with Shot Put, Discus, 400 and 300 hurdles their low spots.

#6

The FAC will have Chillicothe at the 6th spot. The Cavs were the 5th place team at the Marietta District. Middle school came in 2nd at their meet. The Cavs lost about a half dozen boys. Chillicothe's biggest losses were from the field events, three of them along with the 800 and 1600 will need the most help. 4x200 4x100, 400, 200 and the 4x400 look to be the strongest events.

5

Warren SEO, Finished 1st at the Meigs District. Warren didn't lose too much but the ones they did lose score big points. The 4x100, 300h, High Jump, 200 and Pole Vault took a hit. Warren won't have to get help in some of these events because they will do some moving around. It might reduce some scoring in other events but their coaching are good and will always fill spots.

Also could do well in the 110h, 4x100, 4x200. Has long as Unioto and Logan don't have to go up against the top ten in SEO every week they will score high.

#1

Waverly SOC...Waverly finished 12th at the Washington District and the middles school boys finished in the 3rd spot at the MS meet.

On the boys side….you said they need help in the 1600 and 3200, well Landen Eyre hit 4:42 as an 8th grader at the state meet last year and in practice this late XC season hit 4:29. I think he’ll be better in track than he was XC.

For Jackson you said from the 800 things will go downhill….Matt Gibson will earn good distance points this season as a freshman.

As I mentioned at the top this just takes in kids that are in the 10,11,12 this spring. Close to 10 teams in this have very good upcoming freshmen. As it gets closer to track season, I will add some freshmen in.

Re: 2022 out look top 20

Post by noreply66 »

After the first week some of the rankings have changed. A few I didn't find where they ran. And a few where short some. Still don't know how many kids didn't go out this year'

Girls

1.....Dawson-Bryant looked as good has I thought
2.....Fairfield Union did put their fist team out until they went to Newark
3.....Adena Looked good at the Zane Trace open meet but with only counting just two kids to an event might make a difference
4.....Unioto looked real good at the Rocky Brands
5.....Chillicothe looked a little better than at first. I thought they performed at the Rocky Brands better than the Zane Trace open
6.....Jackson did as I thought
7.....Didn't find any info on Circleville
8.....North Adams performed as I thought
9.....Waverly did well at Zane Trace
10...Marietta
11...Warren will get better
12...Logan looked a little better than I thought
13...Miami Trace
14...Waterford looked strong at Rocky Brands
15...Athens
16...Westfall
17...Fairland
18...Fairfield
19...River Valley
20...Gallia

Boys

1.....Waverly had one of their best out and still looked #1
2.....Logan seem to have about a half dozen boys out leaving to a few bad performances but managed to finish ahead of Unioto.
3.....Unioto sort of scared me. Seemed like they where getting more point than they did. Field events didn't help much.
4.....Warren looked a little better than I thought
5.....Portsmouth gave me a little shock. Didn't think they would be as good as they have looked in the first week
6.....Dawson-Bryant finish strong at Zane Trace
7.....Zane Trace.....is a bit better also
8.....Rock Hill is doing well at the start
9.....Chillicothe performed a lot better at Rocky Brands than at Zane Trace. At Zane Trace it seemed like they didn't have the depth for that open meet.
10...Fisher Catholic look good for their size.
11...Nelson/York looks like a good team
12...Northwest
13...Athens has moved up. They showed they have some good boys left from last year heavy graduation.
14...Wheelersburg
15...Fairfield Union didn't put their top kids out at Meigs and at Newark they showed they are a lot better
16...North Adams
17...Jackson has some talent but not depth
18...Marietta
19...Adena
20...River Valley

Going to be a lot more meets this week

Dawson-Bryant 4/5
Fairfield Union 4/5
Hillsboro 4/5-cancelled
Marietta 4/5
Piketon 4/5-cancelled
Washington 4/5
Southeastern 4/7

I must not have hit submit. Washington CH attended Circleville relays . Circleville won it Mcclain was 2nd and Washington CH was 6th Westfall was 7th. Westfall looks to not be filling many events. If you give me a email i can send you results.

McClain in there somewhere

I think Jackson has more depth than talent but could just be semantics. We have a lot of kids that are just short of being reliable scorers individually but solid for relays. Our 19 foot long jumper got injured and is out for the season. Throwers improving. Freshman Hutchinson stepping up big in the sprints. Freshman Stewart going 56.0 in the 400, freshman Hammons going 12.0 and 24.9 in the 200. Sophomore Broermann back after 2 years off. Gibson in distance ran first meet last night and will score well in distance sooner than later.

Whiteoak likely top 20….not far behind Coal Grove right now

Gallia Academy's 4x100 gonna be tough to beat now that Shamblin is back on the relay team. He wasn't at the Meigs meet, but has been healthy the last two meets. The boys 4x100 beat 2021 AA State Champions Point Pleasant and South Charleston last week and smoked the field at Southeastern last night. Woodson and Shamblin will be 1 and 2 at most meets in the 200 as well.
