First game of the season always is a tough call, but this is a great first game matchup. Eastern will be much improved this year, both on the field and on the sidelines--new coach, new mentality. Alexander is the sleeper of the TVCO and has some experience coming back--but can they play and win as a team? Both teams had some bright spots in scrimmages, but those are history now.

My pick is Alexander. Good luck to both teams---see you at the game.

First of all Id like to say Congrats to Alexander. They have a very good football team. Excellent running game and should compete in the Ohio. Eastern played a dismal first half but showed some life in the second. I think Eastern will be fine this year but have got to get off to a better start. Congrats to Alexander again

I think Eastern should call ol sniffer up to get them boys doing that booby blocking. Theyll be sure to score more points that way. Get him to teach that jr hi line that booby blocking and when they get to high school they will be as good as Southerns line.

Now the only stat that matters is going to 1-1. Coach Coffey would know that and probably wouldn't care that much about his legacy, but instead insist that this new group of Eagles leaves their own legacy to go with his.
