Man!!! What a game for me to miss. But,I guess I really didn't miss it as my cell phone was going off all night with text messages and calls giving updates.

Congrats to the Big Blue on a HARD FOUGHT GAME. You never gave up!!!! And in the end thats what really matters.

I can tell you one thing that the GAHS classes of 73-74-75 reunion we were alll running around getting updates on this game. As nobody had service inside the building. So everyone was running outside to get service and updates.

I for one am so proud of the entire team(players/coaches) and how they came back from their week 1 loss. Great effort!!!!!

to answer an earlier question, Coach Spicer left Marietta when his job was eliminated in spring 2008. he coached in Albany, NY last season, while his offensive coordinator, Andy Schob, took over for the Tigers.

Congrats Hillsboro...sounds like a great game.

I hate to say it but the officiating was terrible and marred a great game of two teams who gave it there all. It looked like a couple of those refs were either new or really didnt have it together. I would however say that Hillsboro there fans and staff were great. What a turnaround for Gallipolis, they played with heart and gave it there all. All we ask for is for our teams to get better each week and that did happen. Several players stepped up like Dingess, Moore, Golden and Allison just to name a few also several sophomores played very well. Also let me be the first to take my foot out of my mouth, I made the comment that I wish our coach would show some emotion, I think that was done and not just the unsportsman penalty. That did not cost us the game and everyone that is a Gallipolis fan should be proud of the way our players played with heart. By the way I was on the other end of the feild the extra point that was missed looked good from where I was, was it wide left or what.

Blaze 275 its a tri reunion with the classes of 73-74-75. It was imformal last night at the Courtside Bar and Grill. We'll be eating up at the Holiday Inn Gallipolis tonight. Starts at 6:30pm. Its $20.00 a person and dress casual. Yes the rep for your class slacked on us this year,so we put it in the Tribune 3 times. I know Winston Saunders from your class will be there tonight. Also some of the former teacher were invited. I know John Milhoan and Ron Logan have said they will be there. We hope the rest just show-up.

So come on up!!!

Giving up 35 not so good.

On the other hand it's nice to hear he is cracking down on all the dumb things such as girls wearing jerseys and such. Do the boys want to play football or cry about the stupid things that should have never been allowed?

I agree with oldschool on officials last night. GA has made tremendous improvement since last week. I also thought the PAT was good, as did everyone around me. I was at the 50 yard line and thought I saw the ball clearly go to the right side of the left upright. Only video could prove it. I also thought the ball was not above the end of the upright when it went went through, making it an easy call. I saw players reacting to the officials that it was good, with no response.

blaze,

i agree with strange calls. the linesman on the home side made some very crucial and strange calls like the offside call against us and we hadn't even gotten to the line of scrimmage.

20 had a monster game.

Well I hate to say it but i want to correct the extra point, it was onw of the ONLY calls the officials got right :) :122246

I was there under the posts and it went about 16 inches outside the posts, it was accurate. the non fumble call was horrendous a couple of tds on both sides knees hit before ball crossed. Our kids showed a lot of heart and poise. try learning a foreign language in a month or 2, won't happen. thats what these boys are trying to do. give it time there will be many more examples throughout the season on thier progress as it takes hold.

good job guys!

I believe the TD's were made by Dingess - 2, Wilson, Gravely 2? In addition Gordon had 2 fumble recoveries but was only rewarded. There are also some isses with tackles, Gordon had multiple tackles for a loss and several assists.

Great job Blue!

Dude!
Why when we lose do sooo many people cry about officiating? The reason we lost is that we gave up 35 points to a very mediocre team.
When you play at someone else's place you have to expect to get hosed by the refs.
Just like teams do when they come to our place.I have heard planty of folks from other places say the same about us.
Live with it!
Right now we are not very good.

"Dude"??? No we are not bringing home a W, But these boys are learning something that carries them further in life. Every week in your life is not a "W". They are learning to work (and I mean Work) as a Team. They are learning the meaning of compassion, for their fellow team mates. They are standing together as one. Will they remember the score 20 years from now or will they remember that when times get hard how to keep going and not give up! I think they are Pretty darn good!

faithful fan,
Mrs Mighty
