Here's a preview of Paint Valley done by the Chillicothe Gazette:

Replacing an 1,800-yard RB and a 1,200-yard QB? Man! There goes 3,000 yards of offense from last year's team - a team that only beat the Grove by 7.

I have seen several teams with really big lineman not do so well. Just because you have a big body does not mean your a good athlete. The team that has the best technique and disipline will win in the trenches.
I would like to see the grove pull this one off. I see it being a great game. Wouldnt suprise me to see it turn out a lot like the Meigs Vs Grove game... should come down to who makes less mistakes... Coal Grove is not gonna be able to hand the opponents the ball in the redzone and expect to win every week... I see Turnovers, and penalties seperating these two teams... But i gotta go with Coal Grove...

Coal Grove will win big and keep Paint VAlley under 14. No game here.

Is that prediction based on knowledge of the Paint Valley team or just a gut feeling? I'm hoping you're right.

So someone help me fill in the starting line-up here.

I'm just taking a guess here on offense:

QB - Dove (JR) 6'0 165 lbs
RB - Tyree (JR) 5'8'' 150 lbs
RB - Parker (SR) 5'8'' 175 lbs
TE - Grooms? (JR) 6'7'' 220 lbs
T - Johnson (JR) 6'0 230
T - Lambert (SO) 6'2'' 275
G - White (SR) 6'5'' 310
G - Taylor (JR) 6'3'' 260
C - Wagoner (JR) 6'6'' 255
?

No way its a blow out. Figure it to be a low scoring, hard hitting game like last year. Coal Grove wasn't ready and PV came out and smacked them in the mouth.
Whoever makes the least mistakes will win Friday.

For those Coal Grover's who've never been to Paint Valley, its a pretty neat setting. Middle of a cornfield with a big mountain off to the side of the field.

From what I can gather, Coal Grove will need to key in on Parker on both sides of the ball. He had 3 TDs (two offensive, one INT returned for a TD) against New Miami. He also had a kickoff return for a TD against Coal Grove last year.
I can't get hardly any info out of the Chillicothe Gazette, just some half-done stats of week 1. Can anyone hook me up with an actual, decent recap of Friday's PV/NM game as well as a projected starting line-up?
I know the Bearcats were only up 14-0 at halftime, and one of those TDs came off the INT.

We can only compliment so much....then you have to step back to reality....I really do think the grove has what it takes this year...I think Lucas has opened up his play calling too this year which will help...Us kittens wish the best to our neighbors to kick butt the rest of the season...like I said earlier...good job sweat bee's...keep it going!!!
