Preliminary weather forecasts don't look good and could affect the scoreboard but, Friday is still a long way off so we can't really take this into consideration until later in the week. Athens enters this game 4-0 for the first time since this group was the Bullpups and Vinton Co. continues to struggle at 0-4. I don't see any reason to think the trends will not continue Friday night as long as Athens can stay focused and play the way they did against Meigs they should win this game with ease.

Have all the faith in the world in the Bulldogs. Stay focused, practice like VC is 4-0 and go into McArthur and kick butt.

Go Bulldogs!

Athens (4-0)(#1 in the TVC Power Poll)
vs.
Vinton County (0-4)(Currently under 'The Cutt' Line in the TVC Power Poll)

Athens KEYS to Success
*Don't turnover the Ball...
*Mix up the play calling...
*Get an early lead...

Vinton County KEYS to Success
*Keep the Athens O off the field...
*Keep the game close...
*Cannot turn the ball over...

Bulldogs will be victorious. This one is decided very early. If the weather is soggy, that will help VC contain some of Athen's speed, but the Bulldogs defense is going to dictate this game, regardless of what Mother Nature decides........

athens should win this if they stay focused.

athens is +12 on turnovers, with their only one so far this year being a fumble against federal hocking

This will probably be a very tough game for Vinton. From what I watched on Friday against Meigs, Athens may be the best team in the TVC. I wouldn't be shocked if they went unbeaten.

Who will the Vikes employ at quarterback this week, Grillo probably? Athens is pretty good, but anything can happen in league play and on the road. For players reading this forum, dont believe too many of the great things people are saying about you, you have to stay hungry, focused, and work hard , one week at a time.

Excellent post. I second this. As much as people say they will stay away from these forums it is nearly impossible to. The information will make it back to you one way or another. Spartan is absolutely correct. Focusing on the one team in front of you that week, and playing every practice rep, every down, every game as though it is the last one to win is the only way to keep from getting complacent and overlooking someone.

The Vikings are really struggling this year. When they played Waverly last week, they looked beaten on the opening kickoff. They didn't play with much fire, and it looked like they were expecting a loss before the opening bell. Hopefully they can pull it together in McArthur and get after some teams in their league.

Athens has the most quickness I've seen this year. No probems with VC or the rest
of the TVC Ohio. Way to go bull dogs...
