I still have to ask the owner of this site (Gary M. Ashworth??) how he can afford the web hosting and is he willing to keep it free if he needs to upgrade his web hosting plan.

Reading back through this thread I see posters who try to skirt the rules. They seem rather vindictive to me. Are you sure that you want to take on the riff raff from another site-people who expect (demand) something for nothing?

I run a website and I know these types. Be careful what you ask for.

If you didn't feel that jjhuddle was worth paying $12 a year to use, why didn't you just simply quit and find another site?

Maybe jjhuddle's intent was to weed them out?

I Had an account over their mainly for reading puposes only, I only got the account a few years ago when you had to have it to READ threads about FOOTBALL. In the time I had the account I prob. had 50 posts max if that many all of which were good, clean posts, supportive of the kids who are out on the field.
Now they want me to PAY to read those posts?????????
Yeah we might get a little edgy on here at times but Matash is tops and runs a great site. He gives US time to work things out and those who do not agree may argue but they do not "cross the line" and when they do a warning usuallly fixes it.
If JJ is so confiddent in their site and that enough people will pay $12.00 a year WHY are they so worried about SEOP being advertised as a FREE alternative for the kids and those whose who cannot afford it?

MAYBE the huddle weeded out the WRONG people

I dunno....I have a site that I have been paying $25 a month for out of my own pocket for 7 years now. It is free for it's members-no ads...and I will never make a cent from it. Still....I wouldn't like people trying to make an alternative site and using my site -which took an incredible amount of time and effort to run- to advertise theirs.

Anyway...this does seem like a nice site. It looks like the woner must be absorbing much of the cost himself.

Yea I am sure he does mister cronie. Hes gettin a bunch of people who don't want to fork out money to line the pockets of a few people that are trying to cash in on the invention of an old man. They are takin a site that is free and making excuses to make people give them money. Some of those people already paid them once for a lifetime membership. Then they started lettin people on free again after they charged others. So it has turned into a joke, and the owner of this site is gettin some of us that are smart enuff to know a crook when we come across one. So go on and keep readin our posts and reportin back to the Master if ya want. But youll never get my user name from over there out of me.

There are ads on this site that assist him with finances and IF he ever asked for a donation many on here would ask where and how much he needed.

You will find that the collective knowledge of southeastern Ohio sports on SEOPS is unmatched on ANY other website.....including the Puddle!

Anything you want to know about any school in our region, just post the question here, and you will have your answer. I have always found answers to any questions I have had on this website. I have been on SEOPS since its very early days. I remember when SEOPS was actually on an another forum website......it switched over to this forum on the day that is listed as the day I joined SEOPS back in 2004. That was actually the date this current forum started, but SEOPS is even slightly older than that, having been on another forum prior to that.

I don't look so bad about them charging. I was, however, was very offended when they first went to pay for play and were kicking off all the old people who came on free and built the site up. People like me, who had football websites really spread the word for JJ's back in those days and helped build it. Anyway, finding reasons to ban us to just get us to pay? would anyone have any problem believing that was going on back then? and..it seems like it still might be?

I have no intention of going back and reporting anything. I don't know any of those guys and they wouldn't know me from Adam.

I just have my own morbid curiosities about what makes some people tick....

Like I said, my site (not a sports site) is free and I plan to keep it that way...BUT it is also a lot of work and there is nothing wrong from someone wanting to turn a profit from their labor.

You didnt give your money to JJ, you gave it to Lee Scheer who owns the site. Google him sometime I bet you'll be suprised at what you find. He isnt hurting for money considering he founded Cashland.
