I WOULD HOPE IF THERE IS A PORTSMOUTH ARTICLE THAT IT WOULD BE SOMEWHAT MORE ACCURATE . SMALL DISCREPANCIES TEND TO TAINT THE ENTIRE ARTICLE .

First kudos to the job Coach Pifer and his assistant coaches did at reviving the Warren football program....he was definitely the right man at the right time and he will not be forgotten that he offered to right the ship and accomplished that feat....he has very mixed emotions about leaving Warren at this time but that is what he must do....I've heard Coach Schob is a first rate players coach and that his son is right out of his mold...this is a crucial year for the Warrior program....a transition year is sometimes a down year but the talent level is there to continue the success from last year....good luck to Coach Schob and staff-to-be....the Warrior Nation is behind you!

So what is the latest on assistant coaches? Also will Welsh try to be an assistant coach again this year?

Absolutely hate to lose him, but wish him the very best,

Andy is a very good coach, of which there are many in the area. More importantly, he is one of the finest individuals a young person could have as a mentor. It's hard to describe it effectively but the Warrior faithful will understand after spending time around him.

Here's the schedule that Coach Schob will be faced with his first year in Vincent.

Fri 08/20 PREVIEW v Maysville
Fri 08/28 BELPRE
Fri 09/03 MORGAN
Fri 09/10 at Athens
Fri 09/17 at Portsmouth*
Fri 09/24 at Jackson*
Fri 10/01 PARKERSBURG SOUTH
Fri 10/08 LOGAN*
Fri 10/15 at Chillicothe*
Fri 10/22 GALLIA ACADEMY*
Fri 10/29 MARIETTA*

* denotes a league game
Notes:
- 6 home games!
- third straight season with a 3 game away streak...but like last year it's early in the season.
- first two league games are away...first time since expansion that we play all league opponents.
- We replaced Point Pleasant, Ironton, and Meigs with Athens, Jackson, and Gallia Academy...that should help with the playoff positioning if this team is competitive like last year's was.
- Rivalry week concludes the season around the SEOAL with Warren-Marietta, Logan-Chillicothe, Jackson-Gallia, and Portsmouth-Ironton.
- Logan comes to Warren for second consecutive year...due to Warren agreeing to go to Logan to add a home game the year they opened their stadium.

Heard Andy and his son attend the Warren versus Logan game. Also heard that Belpre's old coach (Shriver) was sitting with them. Could he possibly be coming to Warren's staff?

I can confirm that all the aforementioned people WERE at the game, also sitting with Warren's Al Riffey (who was there primarily to present Warren girls' track coach Sally Maddox with a service & achievement award she greatly deserves).
Not going to speculate about anything, but they were there.

Exciting times for Warren football...

So far so good, my son really likes Coach Schob, but he really has connected with his son Jason. It’s hasn’t been one week since he met the players and I’ve seen more interest in my son then I have since last summer. He wants to spend more time lifting and running and getting ready. They really have a way to motivate him and I’m glad to see it. Anyways I would like to welcome Coach Schob, his family and staff to Warren. I’m looking forward to our senior year of football with them, and wish them the best of luck.

I only heard one other and from what my son said the assistant coach is Belpre's old head coach. Of course that is what I was told, so I could not say for sure.

I am eagerly awaiting to hear who Andy's asst coaches will be.

If Shriver from Belpre is one of them, that is a nice addition. He had nothing to work with last year at Belpre.

Great person and coach Curt Shriver is, he would be a welcome addition to the Warren community if this is true.
