Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
Logan will travel Reynoldsburg on Friday looking for their first win of the season following 35-13 and 42-14 losses to Lancaster and Pickerington North. Both North and Lancaster expect to be playoff teams in Division I, Region 3 and to compete for the OCC-Ohio championship.
Reynoldsburg has a new head coach and while they may not expect a playoff spot or an OCC Championship, they do expect to make steps toward those goals. The Raiders defeated Dublin Jerome 31-14 in week one but fell to Findlay 17-16 as the Trojans scored a touchdown with 7 seconds left to beat the Raiders.
Reynoldsburg beat the Chieftains 47-7 at Logan Chieftain Stadium last season.

"Da Raiders" as Chris Berman would say. The score will be closer than Logan's first two losses.
Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
Findlay is usually a powerful team and I think their also a passing team so the Burg should be plenty ready for the Chiefs again this year,,another toughie for Logan as the Raiders will probably have speed galore,,so just get through this game injury free then get ready for the big showdown against the Ironmen.....

Findlay was a passing team when Ben Roethlisberger played. I went out to the Regional Semi's in 1999 @ Troy stadium to watch my neighboring Grove City team play Big Ben and they sacked him, intercepted him and created havoc for him all night long. Grove City won that game 59-41 and put on a very good high school display. Just look what that guy that lost his last high school game is doing now and the Grove City player's are probably working at WalMart , Giant Eagle or Best Buy. It's a small world.
Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
I watched them in one of the Herbstreit games a few years ago and they were throwing it all over the place so I'm assuming they're still the same unless they had a coaching change or something, glad to hear the Greyhounds beat up on Worthlesberger that night because he sure has beaten up on the Ohio pro teams.....

Findlay has had a coaching change since the mid-'00s. I don't know what they look like now, they've been hovering around .500 the last 3-4 years.

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
Thats good to hear Locos, Saw where they beat up a Cleveland team pretty bad in week one,,,looked all over the net but couldn't find anything on them,,,anyway Reynoldsburg did defend the passing game pretty well last year so I say run run run and run some more go right at that speed..... I was reading where the numbers are back up at the Burg with some transfers actually coming in,, 80 players on the roster with 21 seniors and some college recruits including a 6'3 reciever

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
defense needs to pack more fury. to many players going both ways to compete with another occ team. need to rotate some fresh players in or the chiefs get wore out again. hate to say it but reynoldsburg by 3 td's. lets go chiefs!
Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
I agree trench, too many players playing both ways and I watched the replay from Friday night and noticed McCarty had his hands on his hips by the end of the 1st quarter,,, he looked worn out,,but that's what happens when the numbers are down with so few seniors

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
bolt, im sure theres others on there besides the seniors that could do the job for awhile to give the starters a breather. im also sure that there is somebody else that could play that linebacker spot so mcCarty could get rest to run the ball on offense. plus playing other players a little is good experience. heard those sophmores has some talent. put them in there for awhile, give those guys a rest. they cant perform worn out. go chiefs.

I'd love to give McCarty a break, but I assure you if there were someone else who could play linebacker as well as McCarty he'd be out there.
That kid just flat out gets to the football. In all honesty, I think it would be more likely to find another running back before we could find another linebacker who could play at that high of a level. He has been in on about 70% percent of the tackles - even when he's not making the tackle, he is near the football.

i can see where hes got the nose to get to the ball but that kid is just plain worn out along with some others. but he does run like a deer at running back too. is there another running back on the team that runs hard like that? maybe he could get a little break there. go chiefs!LoganLocos wrote:Trenchfoot -

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
Logan just has been outmanned the first two games of the year. Pick North was huge. I can't see Logan pulling this game out on Friday at Reynoldsburg but I'd hope to see some progress. I think Logan will do OK in the league but they don't have the horses this year to compete with the D1 teams up north.

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
Jerome isn't supposed to be very good this year. Findlay looks to be around .500. and doesn't have the athletes they used to have That said Reynoldsburg usually has speed, even if they aren't real tough. I guess the same thing -- non-league schedule is too tough too early but should have Logan ready for the SEOAL wars. No one has played their schedule and no one in SEO would have beat Lancaster or North either. Give Reynoldsburg a game. You never know the way the ball bounces sometime.
FWIW, there are a number of former great programs around the state that are being "humbled" this year. Logan needs to suck it up. They can still do well in the league.

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
Look for the Chiefs to fair better against a rebuilding Reynoldsburg. Still we do not have the horses to compete with any OCC school this year.

Re: Week 3: Logan AT Reynoldsburg
imo- #17 ought to be running the ball more to give mcCarty a rest here and there instead of just putting him in, late in the game. to me he looks like he can pick up some quick yards. he has the ability and is a fine runner. hope kelly gives some of them a rest up in raider town, they are going to need it. go chiefs!
