Sticking with prediction I made a couple weeks ago that is too darn poetic to pass up: Ironton 9-0 vs Portsmouth 9-0 going into week 10! Morning paper reads.... ;-) Fighting Tigers Defeat Trojans in Coliseum, even all time series, cap off UNDEFEATED SEASON!

Johnstown was 1-5 in passing for 6 yards and two ints. One was tipped, intercepted, stripped, fumbled, and then recovered back by Johnstown. Johnstown only plays a few players both ways!

Fido, Maybe the stadium isnt called the Coliseum, but if you are willing to bet $100 straight up on the Ironton/ Portsmouth Varsity football game to be played in the regular season of 2010, I'll take that bet. PM me if you are interested.

My bad on the passing stats but the reality is that Johnstown is going to do nothing fancy, just smash mouth football.
55 buck98 ....who do you think wins the Johnstown/Heath game??

Was being sarcastic with the "Coliseum" title, sounded better than the "Horseshoe south"..

I am not good on predictions... that is why you play the game. I can assure you that Johnstown will be ready and Heath will be a tough challenge for this Jtown team. Johnstown plays only a couple of players both ways so I think the longer the game goes advantage Jtown. Last year Johnstown moved the ball, but fumbled the game away on offense and could not catch Gresham then when they keyed on him Nelson Scott took plays to the house. Go Johnnies!

Heath wins 21-15 despite losing leading rusher and kicker, Nelson Scott to a season ending injury in the opening game. Heath loses 2 scores with fumbles and loses another score on a 4 and 1 inside the 5 yd line. I think that these two teams will represent the Licking county area in D.IV this season.

Portsmouth West is in great shape for a top 8 finish and maybe a home playoff game. We'll get a bunch of points from Portsmouth and we still have big point games with Minford, Valley, and Wheelersburg.

well so much for your 9and0 ptown/ironton matchup. P-town ran into a buzz saw last night the siders never let up. the siders got p-town down and continued the beat down. West will be a force to reckon with so all those out there who dont believe this you will get the same beat down that p-town received

After week 2, I think I might have to amend that observation.

I don't think either team has played anywhere near their potential.

I look forward to seeing your projections as the season progresses.

I still think Ironton has the potential to go 10-0, but the team must improve greatly. And, the improvement must come quickly with 4-0 Ashland (KY) coming to Tanks Memorial with what is probably their best team in the last 20 years.

Even at this early stage of the season, Ironton looks to have greatly strengthened the chances of hosting a round 1 playoff game. Hopefully, the high intensity level will not only continue, but improve.
