top 15 teams in area of southern ohio

Post by kvnchambers »

I thought it would be interesting if we made a poll from posters on a top 15 list from the area. i am going to include teams from the following counties: gallia, meigs, athens, washington, jackson, lawerence, hocking, scioto, vinton, pike, adams, fairfield, monroe, morgan, noble, pickaway, perry and ross county. if other people will send me there top 15 by tuesday night. i will post results on like wednesday. if no one wants to send me any i will just post mine weekly for people to pick apart.
you can e-mail me at kvnchambers@hotmail.com if you could give me what county you live in it will help me balance the poll from it being lopsided with homer ratings. thanks . i will post my personal top 15. in a few minutes.

Most people's picks will radically shift as the season moves on. It is fun to make up a list, but too early to be very accurate.

Fairfield county has two Pickerington school that If putting Fairield in you would have to put them ahead of Lancaster.

nice catch. i must of messed up when i made my list of schools. right now i would only rate one of them better then lancaster but the other one would definetley be in top 5. i also missed canal winchester which i probably make in top 5 next week. maybe we should eliminate division 1 schools. since according to my count there would only be 3 of them in the 80 some schools in these counties.

i just sort of started in the corner in meigs and gallia county and tried to include most of the counties that compete in same regions as the teams in these counties. i was thinking of teams that compete regullarly with southern ohio teams like. amanda clearcreek, berne union, fisher catholic and others. and tired to get enough schools that we had a good group to come from and this many counties lead to about 80 tams and a top 15 is about the top 20% of that number.

KV. I looked at your rankings and I noticed you had SG but listed their victories as wins over Miller and Fed Hock. I think you have SG confused with Waterford because those are the two opponents they have beaten. SG has beaten Sciotoville East and Southern.

These polls seem to work well using just the schools of the SE District

I would think Lucasville Valley would be in the mix somewhere around portmouth west... I put them somewhere around 8-10 spot

Minus time with the US Army I have spent the rest of my 70 years in Fairfield County. If you would divide Ohio into four segments split equally north to south and east to west, the county would be in the SE quadrant. Over the years I have heard the county referred to as southeastern Ohio and at different times central Ohio. Both Pickerington schools and Canal Winchester are in Fairfield County. Also Liberty Union, Bloom Carroll, Fisher Catholic, Berne Union, Fairfield Union, Millersport, Amanda Clearcreek and Fairfield Christian Academy has recently started a football program. (They were very successful last year and made the playoffs). Some of the schools in SE Ohio are not in the SE district but are lumped in with the Cincinnati area.

Alexander, Symmes Valley, Wellston and South Gallia are not in the top 15 in SEO. There are 0-2 teams and 1-1 teams that would defeat them all if you're going with a true top 15 regardless of division and not going just by records as some people tend to do.

Yes, it's technically in Franklin County (Madison Township) but some of the areas with pockets of kids do come from Fairfield County. It borders the Pickerington and Bloom-Carroll districts in Fairfield county and the Groveport-Madison and Columbus City Schools in Franklin County.
