Lets just hope the officials let the kids play and have a good safe game! Always hate when those boneheads ruin a good game!

35-7 Oak Hill. Fairly sloppy game but it was the opener.

Let me first say that Oak Hill is a very good team. They will win a lot of games this season.

Let me also say, Coach Davis is an excellent coach as well I am not questioning anything he does but I do have some opinions.

I felt coming into the game that Chesapeake was going to struggle against the pass, and they did. The secondary is not very good, and I know some people don't want to hear it, but they are just not. I think Austin McMaster is doing well at QB, but he is not a DB. He looks awkward bieng 6'5 out at corner. He has good straight line speed, but his hips are not made to be DB hips.

Opinion alert*- I would love to see Chesapeake go to a two S defense. McMaster would be much better imo playing at S vs playing DB.

I thought the Dline did fine against the run, but the pass rush wasn't very good. There really isn't a head hunter on the Dline that will cause the QB to keep his eyes from going down field. I think Wells will help with that when he comes back, but still he is more of a run stopper.

opinion alert*- I really like the double wing offense, but this group just doesn't have that type of speed imo to run it this season. When Chesapeake had guys like the Hunt Brothers, Fizer, Waugh, etc. they would take advantage of that speed by using sweeps and the option to utitlize their speed, but this group just doesn't have a home run hitter. I would like to see a more traditional offense with a lot of play action. McMaster can throw and he looks good throwing on the run. THat offensive line is made up of strong run it right at you guys, but there aren't very many athletes.

I am just a nobody and believe me Coach Davis does a great job, so take it for what it is worth. Plus, Oak Hill is just better.

Good start to the season for the Oaks. The first quarter started out a little rough but settled in nicely for the most part. Chesapeake has some nice athletes and what looks like will be a quality running game, they should have a good season. Good luck to both schools the rest of the season.
