There seems to be a lot of room between the top of the region and the middle/bottom.

I see the top 8 in the end
Ironton
Hartley
Portsmouth West
Heath
Coshocton
Johnstown
Highland
Amanda Clearcreek

The winner of the Ironton-Hartley game will get the number one seed. There will be a lot of points to be had in that game. I still think Hartley is the best. Losing in overtime at Elyria Catholic does not diminish that at all. Ironton will be a force to be reconed with. Very impressive fashion over Ashland. I think Jon Alder and Hartley will be huge games and they could go either way. Portsmouth West also looks good, but they have yet to play anyone of signifigance. Two of those three look to play for the Region 15 title.

playing as well as Hartley did at Elyria Catholic actually improves my thoughts on them.
AHM is correct about the dropoff from the top 8 or 9 to the rest of the region,it isnt a dropoff its like a huge cliff.
Ironton opened my eyes as to thier resurgence with a blowout over Ashland, which also opened my eyes as to the strength of Wheelersburg, although everyone knows Ironton in week 4 and deeper into the season is always much better than Ironton in week 1 and 2.
You may be right about Portsmouth West thus far ,they have only played one significant opponent, but that opponent was a huge rivalry game and West looked incredibly good. They will be a team that will step up each and every week threw out the playoffs.

If Ironton beats both Alder and Hartley, talking about Region 15 becomes small talk. State Title talk will be the next order of business. Alder lost to Clinton-Massie by a point! Hartley lost to Elyria Catholic in OT!

Alder will most likely come to Ironton at 4-1. There's not a lot of discussion about this game on Yappi (in fact I haven't seen any) but I think this will be a good indicator of how Ironton might fare in the playoffs. Alder is a top 10 D IV team in several polls / rankings and a strong showing by the Fighting Tigers would be a good sign.

As of right now, there are only 3 teams in the top 10 standings whose opponents' winning percentage is greater than 60%.
They are:
1. Portsmouth 62.5%
2. Ironton 62%
3. B. Hartley 60%

Heath is the only other team whose opponents' winning percentage is above 50 (55%) right now.
P. West needs help from their OVC opponents to garner more 2nd level points.

Unless some things change on these three's schedules, they could gain huge chunks of points with each victory. A lot of the seeding will be determined by 5 games - three of them involving Portsmouth (P'town v. Jackson, v.Gallia Academy, v.Ironton). The fourth game would be the Ironton - Hartley match-up in week 8. The other is Heath v. Newark Catholic this week. They stand to gain a lot of 2nd level points with a W this week. Obviously, other games will determine outcomes here, but these are some of the "bigger" points games out there.
