Week 9: Wheelersburg (6-2) SOC (3-0) @ Valley (8-0) SOC (3-0

This game will give the winner sole possession for first place in the SOC 2. Thoughts?

This is going to be a hard fought game by both teams. Both teams have a good amount of speed. If Yates continues to play the way he has, then the Indians should be able to come out on top. The Pirates are going to have to find someway of keeping him under control, which is no easy task. Valley will be at home on the turf, I gotta go with Valley on this one.

I like the BURG in this SOC II contest, I really think that Coach Woodward and the Pirate Coaching Staff will have the team ready. They did for Minford and they will for Valley. Yes it will definitely be a great ballgame, and well worth watching.

BURG--35
Valley--27

This game won't surprise me either way. Valley MUST want this win worse than most any other. I see that burg has won 30 of their 32 contests. Does anyone know what yrs valley won?

If the Burg team show's up like the last 6 weeks, no question they win!
The D has played almost lights out at times, the special teams with a good
kicking game could be KEY.
The offense has moved the ball vey well with long drives with the 1-2 punch
of shank & shears, the team is balanced with run or pass, the big O-line and
the other offense weapons will be key to success!!

I've watched both teams and I personally think Valley is the better team. Yates is rediculous and has so many weapons around him. Valley will have to get off their high horse monday though because if they go in the game big headed then burg will smack them in the mouth.

28-17 Indians

1962 and 1964 were the ONLY two Valley victories over Wheelersburg. The last 46 years don't matter, though, come Friday night. All that matters is 2010 and going home with a win!!

Im pulling for Valley, just because Wheelersburg,West and occasionally Minford winning this league. Valley has never won the SOC so I would like to see the underdog win this conference.

I also have seen both teams play now, and I really like Burgs chances. They have played a Yates QB in Monroe Centrals QB last yr. They will see it on film, try to counter. THey didnt do a really good job last yr but nobody did. Burg just outscored them. See it again this year. Give more details as the week goes on. Good luck to both teams. I am really impressed tho with Valleys improvement. Like Coop said 2 yrs ago, they will go thru the growing pains and they have. Congrats to the Indians on a big win, but......GO BURG!!

The monkey is still on Valley's back. Burg is peaking at the right time and wins this one by 10.

Burg's line is as big as West's but two steps faster. The DL of the Indians will have to come to play. I like Burg in this one but I wouldnt sleep on the Injuns!

The key to this game is between crabtrees ears....its quite clear to me and many other valley fans that wheelersburg is in valleys head big time. In the last 10 years valley has had the more talented team atleast 5 or 6 times and they just get out coached or they have some stupid break in the game go against them and then they fold the tent from there out....there is going to be 1 or 2 plays that go against valley and the key to this game is how does valley respond to the adversity....Valley has one clear advantage in this game and that of course is yates....he is def. the wild card that gives valley a their best chance to beat the burg in the past 4 years atleast....he is a true dual threat qb

I have seen both teams play this year multiple times and valley has the more talented team....again...but i think the burg is gonna come away with a win in this one....again 35-21 burg gaining huge points after this week

I think Valley proved themselves versus West. Now come the test with Burg. They havent beat Burg since 1964. But if there gonna do it, this is the year. Valley will have to key in on Schankweiler. Burg will be doing the same to Yates. It will be a tall task to get the monkey off Valley's back. PREDICTION: Valley 28 Burg 25 OT

Should be a great game! I think Valley gets it done...this group of kids doesnt care what the opposing jersey says.

demaniac; I think the difference is Monroe Central didnt have a back like Holcomb.

Valley 28

Burg 24
