Well need to bump this topic up a little. Minford from what I have heard has looked pretty good at the 7-on-7. Scrimmages are coming up for the Falcons starting Tuesday the 9th at Rock Hill. I can't wait till this season gets underway. Should be a barn burner in the conference.

I believe Minford scrimages PHS on the 13th. Does anyone know what time this game is? I also believe it is in Portsmouth can someone confirm this for me.

^Two-a-days will always weed out the wannabees football players. Between 60-70 kids is par for the course the last 5 years. The Jr. High ranks are also full at 50 kids. It seems the pee-wee system is doing its job.

Ahh two-a-days, one thing I can personally say i don't miss about football. I watched the Falcons in the passing camp at home and I liked what i seen. Howard connected on some good deep balls and they seem to have the out route on lock down. Is it time to kick off the season yet??? :D

I thought number 50(T/DT) and 9 (ILB) looked really good at the RH scrimmage....

Was there any Falcon fans at the Portsmouth scrimmage tonight. If so, how did we look?

We looked a whole lot better than we did @ RH. Think it was 20 to 6 Minford.

Minford ran the ball right at Portsmouth who had no answer for Minford's offensive line. The running game looked really good and they also looked alot better defensively vs how the played at RH.

Gaines looked really good cutting off blocks and showed alot of speed when breaking through the secondary. Snyder looked very good again carrying the ball and should be hard to stop once he turns the corner.

Portsmouth didnt have much success running the ball against Minford, but they did complete several nice passes (including Portsmouth's lone TD). That is the 4th time I have been to Portsmouth's new field, each time I am more impressed.

On a side note, did anyone notice how many more fans Minford had at the scrimmage than Portsmouth did?

Minford looks to have reloaded well. Big line and hard running backs. Good speed also. They will be right in the thick of the SOC II.

I do have to agree Minford looked much better at Portsmouth than they did at Rock Hill. Good defense and offense. Looking forward to the jamboree game this Friday against Fairland and the season opener against South Point. As long as we play tough and smart this should turn out to be a good season. We have the talent to do so. Not all of our speed is gone. Had some very impressive runs Saturday night. These boys have worked hard and I think they are ready to go. GO FALCONS!!

Our defense really stepped up. Did a good job of stopping the run. Gave up a few pass plays but made the tackle without giving up extra yards, I'll take that over penalties any day. Offense ran the ball well and hit some good passes also. Once the O gets all the kinks worked out they look like they'll be very efficient.
Huge improvement over the last scrimmage. The coaches and players went to work and it showed. There are still some things we can do a little bit better but I was happy with the improvement. Another week to get better and then the jamboree game. We should have things squared away nicely by the South Point game.

Minford is looking good! Qb (Howard), had some great passes, and running game is strong...Both lines are strong.

(Evan Howard) winner of 7 on 7 championship in Indianapolis, invited to Oklahoma, Winner of 7 on 7 championship in Oklahoma. This kid is only a junior. And Yes I am partial. Good luck falcons...

With a solid rushing attack, mix up some passes and a stout defense will propell the Falcons to an opening season win.
