Bucks win big!!!! The running game at NY is back to the well oiled machine that it always has been. Meigs scores late but they won't have enough to keep it close.

IMO the buckeyes win big, but good luck to the underdog Meigs.

Meigs will be dangerous. Chancey always has them ready to play NY no matter what their record is

Coach Chancey always had their boys ready and always had my respect, however after watching their new head coach as a parent at the 8th grade game I must say that I personally have no respect for him... JMO
Meigs had a lot more class under coach Chancey

Meigs is probably a couple years off, maybe longer after watching the 8th grade game the other night. NY has looked much better in recent weeks but they sure didn't shake anything up the 1st quarter at Logan. I think we've still got some work to do, but don't see a real test until Athens in week 10. I'd say Athens looks ready to make another run at the playoffs if they can get enough points playing smaller schools.

Nelsonville-York will be way to much for Meigs to handle, Buckeyes big.

Didnt know they changed coaches but that says a lot about where they are right now. I'll take the buckeyes. I always thought Chancey got more out of those boys than they had a lot of times. He'll be missed.

Mike Bartrum is the coach now. I think he's doing fine. He just needs to simplify things.

Don't be fooled by the 'smaller teams' cliche when talking about computer points ... Athens didn't make a jump until it beat DV Nelsonville-York last year.

In 2011 Athens went 10-0 (and was seeded 2nd)
in 2011 Jackson went 10-0 (and was seeded 7th)

go figure

With wins over D2 Warren, D2 Watkins Memorial, D3 Jackson, D4 Waverly ... and still have D3 Vinton County ... the remainder of the schedule won't hurt Athens - and it will DEFINITLY HELP NELSONVILLE-YORK if the Bulldogs keep winning ... the Buckeyes need Athens to rack up as many wins & points as possible - so a victory over them could possibly propel NY into the region 19 playoffs.

I could see this game being another blowout or atleast 50 -7 or something lopsided

I sure would like to see Kyle Freer play some DE. Seems like a waste of talent for him to play TE and only get 1-2 catch's a game. He would be a dominant DE.

River Valley, Berne Union and Logan are NOT Trimble & Newark Catholic - of course you are going to look better ...

BUT ... if you have enough players and depth to splt up the lines - so they don't go both ways - that has to be a plus.

I don't post nearly as much as I use to buckeyeguy ... if I have time to glance at some topics in the morning - when I"m on the computer doing other stuff - I'll throw out a few oppinions ... most of the time I just read everyone elses posts ...

BTW ... there is only 10 weeks of football, maybe 11 if your lucky ... of course I stay engaged with what's going on - I love the game, the athletes, the coaches and fans ... I have 9 other months out of the year to do different stuff ...

Even if NY wins out, we will need a lot of help to get in.. Some of the teams that we beat, need to start winning some games and quite a few in our region need to get more than 2 losses in order for NY to jump up to atleast an 8 in the region.

All we can do now is take care of our business and hope for the best.

GO BUCKS
