Week 9: Chillicothe (2-6) at Jackson (5-3)
Week 9: Chillicothe (2-6) at Jackson (5-3)
The Ironmen will be hosting the Cavs on Senior Night at Alumni Stadium. Jackson comes into the game on a three-game winning streak, and they remain perfect in SEOAL play while Chillicothe suffered its second SEOAL loss to Logan last week. Jackson is the two-time defending SEOAL champion and they're looking to push their league record to 4-0, and stay on pace for a chance to defend that crown.
Chillicothe has played a tough non-conference schedule and they haven't been completely healthy in many of their losses this season. The Cavs have some very good athletes, and Coach Hinton will certainly have them ready to play. I'm expecting a battle next Friday night.
Thoughts on the game?

Play well (do you job, know the situation, minimize turnovers, make a few plays).....and win.

I believe Jackson should take this one. I hope Jackson can tune up their passing game before they meet the Blue Devils. While the running game is going good right now, they might need more than that against Gallipolis. This is the last chance to try something different against a bruised up Chillicothe team. I would like to see the Ironmen put a stomping to Gallipolis next week, but first beat Chillicothe!!!
Re: Week 9: Chillicothe (2-6) at Jackson (5-3)
Not much talk on here this week.
The circumstances surrounding this game seem somewhat similar to 2010. Jackson was hoping to remain undefeated in league play before traveling to Gallipolis in Week 10. A talented Chillicothe squad, battling injuries came to Alumni Stadium and gave the Ironmen all they wanted. Jackson had to overcome a 4th quarter deficit to win 15-14 on a gutsy call by Coach Hall to go for two at the end of the game. I think this game has the potential to be similar to that one. Once again, Chillicothe has some injuries. They have played a tough schedule, and their record shows that, but they're still a dangerous team.
This will be the last home game for a great group of Jackson seniors. They have never lost a varsity football game in SEOAL competition, winning 14 in a row. They're the two-time defending outright champions of the league. I know they would like nothing more than to move to 4-0 and set up another Week 10 scenario where they'll be playing for an outright championship, and maybe even a shot at the playoffs.
