I would rather get no points from someone and play my second teamers than not play at all.

no it wouldn't unless your entire schedule sucks or you lose to a bad team.

anything less than 7-3 or 8-2 would be a bad season for west with a schedule they now have.

Valley won't work already playing them. East does nothing for points and I doubt a trip to Cleveland or Akron is in the future. I don't know anything about the other schools. JMO

I remember a year ironton and Portsmouth played twice to fill an open week. and I think met again that year in Athens in the regionals at was crazy. I'd love to see another ironton/west series. and or valley. would love to see ironton/stuebenville in ironton's open slot week 3. that's how ironton got where they were.think of the points if ironton upset hem. ironton would certainly be an underdog, but hey it's a game.

How did West do at the lower levels last year? JV? Freshman? Jr High?

Definitely smart from a competition and points aspect to get rid of bottom feeder OVC teams. They already gave little in secondary points and with the addition of Ironton and Portsmouth; they probably just inherited 2 more losses. Good thing is Portsmouth will probably win more games.

Please explain to me how Wellston is a good pick up? Wellston, not Jackson, Wellston. They are mediocre at best and will not prepare anyone for playoff time. The OVC is weak all the way around. The best teams would be bottom feeders in the SOCII. Ironton proved that 2 times last year and Portsmouth is an absolute joke. It will take years for that program to be turned around.

From reading on JJHUDDLE Liberty Union is pretty much done for a while. They graduated almost all thier talent and with the schedule they play, won't yield many points. Same obviously with South Point and Rock Hill whom offered nothing in points or competition. Since they just inherited 2 more conference losses, that will only get worse.

Coal Grove is decent competition that seems to have some good up and coming talent. Most years they will win at least 6 games for a decent point game if we win. I agree on Wellston. Not going to get much there. Getting a week 5 game will be the key. If they find one.

Yeah, LU is going to be way down next year. Was good that the two didn't renew.

Raceland is a good solid team that plays good clean football.

This should be a good game.
