Powers is a tough runner. #41 on defense is a monster. LU Oline is really good at pulling and playing mis direction also. Good spread offense when they need it. Defense is very quick and good hitters.

Calpreps has this as a blow out. If Burg plays the way they can, I agree.

I think Liberty Union would have won a match up with Wheelersburg last season. LU clearly had a better defense. Wheelersburg was defenseless against you know who week 13. I provided the regional final stats on another thread which made that case. Reading posts I gather Wheelersburg is much better defensively than last year although Jackson (D3 R9) had their way with them on the scoreboard. It might have been back and forth until late for all I know.

I see a potential upset here.

I really think Burg players didn't play their best vs Jackson, whom by the way had their way with Ready, West Jeff, and Burg in 3 consecutive weeks. Tough fricking team. We had our chances of course. 3 times in their red zone and no points.

Im not sure if LU could put enuff pts up vs Burg last yr tho, JMO.

This years Burg D is a lot better. Our offense is on par with last yr but for the passing game. But it still works lol!! When we need it. As said before, our Oline has all members back but one. They are big and will wear a dline down in the 2nd half. Half time scores to finals show that in almost every game except Jackson.

LU is a great opponent no doubt. The team is very good and wouldn't be here if it wasn't. Ive watched several videos and matchups will be key. It all comes down to Defense. Who can dominate the LOS. I don't go by the West vs LU score and Burg vs West score. Irrelevant. Good luck to both teams but GO BURG!!!

Looking at clips on max preps. Liberty union is very good. This one comes down to the end. No blow out at all. I'm thinking. 28-21 or 24-21 late score by pirates.

Defensive pressure in the backfield and disrupting LUs running attack will be huge for the Burg D. It looks like 34 is their go to guy. I agree that this will be a tough game.

I have watched a lot of film on lu. Their dline doesn't get much penetration... This will be huge. I think lu has good life e backers though. In lu gane against west it looked like west oline was in control. Idk. I think the pirates will roll in this one. Maybe not a blow out but a convincing win none the less.

LU is a fast a defense. I say line them up, and run right at them. We have a bigger and deeper line than them. Just shove em right down the field. They will play tough early on but they will get weighed upon. Then look for play action to open it up. We have 3 good receivers and a cpl TE's that can catch the ball. JMO

The only way to counter a fast D is to run north and south. The side to side stuff helps them. I'm sure Woodward and company have a tight gameplan. Saturday can't come soon enough.
