Week 9 River Valley @ Athens

Post by Green Beagle »

Cant believe there is not a thread on this. Plenty to talk about. 105 said it may be the last chance to see the greatest team in Athens county history to play at home.

Athens County has a State Champion and State Runner up and there was an Athens team in the 60's that had two future NFLers and one kid play pro in Canada. I have to think that the Bobo led Chauncey teams weren't chopped liver.

That is false.

1. 105 didn't say anything, its a business/building - it can't speak.
2. the broadcaster said Athens high school history. I was sitting right there, I heard what he said.

Lol. 93 is touchy :122246 They are a pretty good team. When they win their region they will br right up there with the really good ones. Then when they get to the state championship game they will be right there with some of the greatest teams in athens county. But it is one of the greatest athens teams.

First time the Bulldogs and Raiders meet inside the TVC-OHIO Banner...
Once members of the SEOAL.

Without a Doubt, this is the Best Athens Team we have witnessed...

The Seniors have only lost ONE-Regular Season game (as Sophomores)...
Have WON FOUR Play-Off Games (The First in School History)...

Joey Burrow is Climbing the OHSAA Passing Record Book...
Trae Williams is Climbing the OHSAA Rushing Record Book...
Ryan Luehrman is Climbing the OHSAA Recieving Record Book...
Heath Wiseman has a OHSAA Record for Most Recieving TD's in a Game...

The 2013 Team is 5th of the Most Points For a Season with 707.
The 2012 Team is 10th of the Most Points For a Season with 647.

Burrow will be an Ohio State Buckeye.
Williams will be an Ohio University Bobcat.
The Luehrman Twins have potential to play next level.

This has been the most exciting TEAM in Athens History to watch, and I thought I played on a pretty exciting team back in the early 2000''s

Sorry RV, but just another statistical bump in the road for Athens as they push towards going 10-0 and head hopefully deeper into the playoffs this year. Not that I want to see them do it to any team but at what point do you worry when you have starters who basically in most cases play only a half of football?? Come playoff time it's 4 quarters, I know conditioning and all goes a long ways but it's not the same as actual game play. Good Luck

And if you're RV if it gets out of hand do you roll over and take it or do you start crashing the ends hard to make sure Athens does pull their starters. The worse the score gets the more physical it will become.

That would be my worry. Some kid on the other team starts taking cheap shots at the stars and one ends up with a bad injury. If it get out of hand don't be surprised if it happens or someone attempts to make it happen.

Only a handfull of the 32 teams in the DII Play-offs will make it a 4 qtr game.

His knee issue goes back way further than Meigs, he has had a few instances since last basketball season and it was checked out again this week by the OU training staff. The knee has not ever nor does it now have any structural or ligament damage, he does have some tendonitis (which has been reported even by major news outlets) that has flared up from time to time but he will be totally fine. The training staff did recommend that he take the week off to rest but with it being senior night this Friday, I wouldn't count him out totally, although I would bet on a lot of playing time for Wiseman again this week at QB.

I took Vinton County in last weeks game with River Valley.
I should have known better, with it being dry last friday RV throws the
ball a lot and they put it together to get there first Ohio TVC win. That being said
It's going to be bad because Athens is just that good. I look for the Bulldog
Defense to score as much as the offense if RV try's to throw all night.
Alexander learned that lesson last year. Good luck to both teams
