That is too bad for the Trojan team. Props to the freshman getting all kinds of experience. Similar for Tigers to last week against the kittens.

A group of us were told by his grandfather that he will be missing basketball season too. Hope that isn't the case but Al certainly wouldn't make that up.

Portsmouth loaded with talent. 41-40 show down with valley and Portsmouth had 5-6 turnovers. So don't full yourself tiger fans , Portsmouth is a huge threat. With Oliver out makes for a predictable offense and our Tigers will come out on top . 49-28 tigers.
I will say after watching the dismantle of Ashland I can see the true potential of what this team can do. For all of those that think Ashlands no good. They have 2 great athletic backs and someone told me on here that when I said our tiger backfield was maybe the best n a 2 hr radis. They said Ashland had best backfield. Well I think we seen who is the best at least out of Ashland/ironton.
I still think even more so now.

Portsmouth is not physical on defense. Ironton should be able to run on Trojans. If this is a track meet, then it could get interesting. Ironton struggled with defending the pass against burg. But Trojans don't have Oliver. 35-21 tigers

Ironton was in the game with Burg at half time difference was Ironton was lost in the second half.
With Portsmouth Ironton better be ready from opening kick period.
Portsmouth has nothing to lose and with this a major rivalry game just more fuel to win a game

Ironton was never in the game pass defensively. I believed the pirates punted twice the entire game. If Portsmouth can get to the edge they have a chance. Otherwise tigers easy.

you are wrong wobycat I was there. ironton/ burg were dead even till that last td drive before the 1/2. then they lost their way. they have come a lonnnng way since then. I ain't takin nothing away from Portsmouth, I've seen too many of these. ironton better be ready to play ball Friday. and I'm sorry to hear about the olliver young'un. I never did hear what type injury he had. but I hope the lord heals him up.

I never said they weren't in the game. I said they weren't in the game concerning the pass. They gave up a 30.5 per pass average and every team gets better until they reach their potential. Then you hope injuries don't keep them from regressing.

And Ironton has got better concerning the pass.
Players have stepped up and Ironton is not the same team since playing Burg they have went to what plays best for this team.
I believe Ironton is a team to be feared but only if they play to their strengths

According to what I heard today from a very good source, don't count out Sky Oliver for basketball yet. Still over 2 months until hoops season starts.
