Week 12: #4 Newark Catholic vs #1 Lucasville Valley

It is finally game day.....

This is going to be a great football game. These are two experienced squads. The Valley seniors are playing in their 48th game and the NC seniors are playing in their 49th. Valley's seniors have 43 wins where NC's have 35. Valley has 5 playoff wins and two Regional final appearances. NC has 5 as well but they have a State title game under their belt. Both teams have played at Nelsonville in the last 12 months. There are no advantages there at all.

This game is going to come down to which defense can stop the running game of the other and which offense avoids the big turnover. If either team gets up a score or two and gets their running game going, it could be lights out for the other.

I look for Valley to focus on stopping the run and allowing their good athletes in the secondary to try to stop the passing game. This has been the formula all year and I look for it to continue.

Good luck Indians - I know you can and will get it done.

I think the difference in this one will be Miller-Dunn-Miller on Valley's D. They are all big and athletic and can really disrupt an offense. If they are as effective as they were against Wheelersburg, Valley will take care of business. I know Valley has a lot of seniors that have played a big part in their season, but to me, their defensive line is the key to everything.

I'm here at NY. Hoping for the best for my greenwave. LV looks really impressive during pregame warm ups. It's going to take a perfect game and a few good bounces for NC to win. IMHO
