Both are legitimate contenders this year in their divisions this year and only a dunderhead would think otherwise.

Unfortunately, for most of the dunderheads though, it's going to take a Win on December 1st to shut them up, and that's what I believe Burg will do.

GO BURG!

This is pretty simple guys, its going to be a great game! Neither team has been tested at all. I know for sure Jackson has showed nothing due to being fairly sure they were going to be 4-0 going into this game. Holding everything back for this game. Jackson is super fast at all skill positions, kids going to the next level. They are no joke. Wheelersburg is a great team, someone is going to lose this game, but guess what???? On Sat Morning Jackson and Wheelersburg are still going to be the best Teams in the area, now thats a fact!!!

After watching both teams play this season, if Jackson has wants to be in this game come 4th quarter they better have held something back. Burgs D is really great at stopping the run. The front four get great penetration, and the backers attack down hill. In saying this Jackson O-line is big, strong, and nasty. I just believe that Jackson will be one dimensional. Burg will play man on man outside and attack the the line of scrimmage. On the flip side I believe that Burg is only team on Friday that can stop the Burg offense. Jackson's D will be successful if they can simply slow down Burgs offense. For Jackson to win they need to control the ball and run the clock, keep Burgs offense off the field and wear down a team that has 2-3 deep on defense, and then create turnovers. Easier said then done. If they can't accomplish this tall task it might be a long night and a "butt whoopin" for the Ironmen.

I couldn't agree with the Burg side of that more. They sure appear to be the class of D5. With most of the MAC powerhouses elsewhere, I could see the Burg winning the whole thing. As far as Jackson, I just don't see them winning a playoff game unless they got the right matchup. That region is just pretty tough.

Looking forward to a great game Friday! Temperature shows to be sunny and 78 degrees at kickoff in Jackson.

D5 has ten teams that currently have 4-0 records. All three Region 19 teams that are 4-0 are playing teams with 4 wins Friday night.

I don't see a running clock this week for Burg but I do see a Win. I think Jackson's running game keeps the clock running. Big Points Game!

I do not see this being close. Jackson has not beat anyone.
Burg beat Watterson and say what you wanted about them being "down" but they are still a D3 columbus catholic school. And they didn't just beat them, they whooped them.

I've seen both teams. Burg is much faster and more athletic at the skill positions and on defense.

Jackson has an extremely good o line and some solid backs. Jackson will struggle to defend burgs passing game. That will be the key to this game.

Ultimately, I think this Wheelersburg team is the best we've had in Southern Ohio since the 2000 Portsmouth team. Jackson has a good team, but not on the level of burg. This one will get out of hand after halftime (if not sooner). Burg 41-14

Burg was jacked up and laser focused to play a Bishop Watterson team that was thought to be the caliber of a Bishop Hartley. They were not. It is difficult to get up for two games in a row so I look for the Pirates to come out flat but wake up and take care of business.
This definitely looks like a top five Burg team. The Pirate JV defense came in late in the game against Watterson's 1st string offense and held their own which shows just how deep this team is. :o
Go Pirates!

They are going to have to learn to come out jacked up and laser focused multiple weeks in a row if they want to win playoff games. I don't see anyone coming out flat. This will be full throttle from the get go.

Burg has a good team but overall I think all the Conferences in our area are way down in talent from previous years....Way Down!!! So this makes Burg look better than they may actually be in the Donald"s opinion....

In the SOCII Burg, Waverly and West are 4-0. That must mean they are all down. Burg hasn't played a conference game yet so how does that already make them look better than they actually are. There is no validity to your ASSumption.

After seeing some film and considering some other things I believe this is another big score differential win for Burg.

Not trying to be cocky or whatever name you want to call it, just think we are much better here.

Looking forward to Friday.

Maybe I should have specified Scioto County rather than the entire area.

But I did watch the 14 Athens team and they were awesome. I think the difference between that team and this years Burg team is that Burg will get the job done and win it.

I also watched the 2000 Portsmouth team and I think they were the same caliber as that Athens team. Athens was probably better, but they were similar in the caliber of talent.

I did not get to see the 00 portsmouth team so not much insight.. I believe what will seperate this burg team from athens is the D. athens thou very good did give some some points in the playoffs and it also lost them the title game
