If Logan is as turned around as it sounds like, I would be interested in hearing exactly how that was done and what seemed to be the catalyst for the change.
I only saw the Warriors in the opener against Parkersburg (for a half) and thought they had some great tools but struggle a bit in rush defense and tackling on the perimeter. No idea if that has improved or not.
Logan is by no means completely turned around, but the difference from what you saw last year to what Logan will show tomorrow night should be night and day based on what I've seen the last 9 weeks.
Coach Burke has proven to be the right man for the job. This season will mark a great foundation for Logan Football to rebuild on. The fact that the foundation is an SEOAL title is pretty impressive.
IMO, Burke was able to do two things: 1) Get the coaching staff to buy in and move toward success as a unit. 2) Get the Seniors, and in turn the underclassmen, to buy in to what the new staff wanted them to do. This senior class wanted to right the ship, and Burke and his staff gave them a road map to do it.
It wasn't always pretty. The first two weeks were as outmatched as I've seen Logan teams. But they improved each week. The change in attitude, the change in discipline, and improving each week were what I wanted to see from the purple and white. The SEOAL title is just gravy.
All this was done despite the fact that two 2-year starters (one being a QB) did not come out for the team. Another senior, IMO the top defensive player last year and #1 receiver, played about 2-3 quarters all season. And a couple of juniors that would have seen significant playing time were academically ineligible.
