COOP, Thanks, I guess I am being overly cautious. It just doesn't "feel" right to me to look ahead to week twelve when we would first need to win week 11... Not to mention week 10 (though I know we are "locked").
Playing at OU would be awesome. That is one of the schools that had been recruiting my boys. It is a beautiful campus.

Ohio University
Possibly Lancaster
Sorry Jesco, I've got to respectfully disagree with both locations. OU has not shown any interest in hosting a HS game in the post season for a few years. That said, there are a few great fields with turf available, much closer than Lancaster. Let's see:

Athens HS
Nelsonville York
Logan

All three are great venues, have new fields with turf, and pretty good accessibility. I'd take any of these three over Peden Stadium or Lancaster............ :-D

I would rather go to Lancaster rather than Nelsonville. I would even rather go to Columbus. Drive to Nelsonville is horrible and not enough seating. We all seen that last year. Jackson would be a great place to go.

Steely Dan,

Good point. I really, really, really hope we don't play anyone at Nelsonville this year. I've never been to Logan's field. I'll absolutely take your word for it though. In terms of drive time for both, Columbus wouldn't be the worst area for a potential LV-Bellaire match-up.

Of course, the more I think about it, I think I'm with Drchap.....let's just keep it business as usual one game at a time and cross each bridge as we get there. Right now, I guarantee there's a team on the other side of Lucasville-Minford Rd gearing up to redeem their season by trying to send us to the playoffs with a "black eye" on what's supposed to be our 3rd consecutive 10-0 run into the playoffs!!!

Jesco - With that, I would agree, my friend. One game at a time. I will say this, with the new bypass open around Nelsonville, access to the field is much easier. How bad of a drive is it from Lucasville to Athens? NY field is 15 minutes further, and pretty easy to get to now. You don't have to go into Nelsonville anymore to get to the High School. Just sayin.

Regardless, more ball to be played before we start talking week 12. Good luck to the Indians this week!

It's about an hour and a half to Athens from Lucasville, give or take.

Thanks for the well wishes!! The kids have certainly given the community a lot to be proud of!

I am not sure we will know the final match ups in this region until tomorrow afternoon. Bellaire and Martins Ferry will have a big say in who plays who. 1-8 and 2-7 may be decided if Valley and Ready both win. The seeds look to come down to a handful of games:

Ready-Hartley
Valley-Minford
Bellaire-Ferry
Centerburg-Highland
Academy-Bexley

There will be others if Academy loses.

Lancaster does not have turf last time I checked. They have not hosted a playoff game in a few years. I know Athens will be a willing host if they are not playing on the same night. Nelsonville is ALOT easier to get to know. It does not even take 5 minutes to get to the school off of the new bypass. If you are coming from Lucasville. Make a right off of the exit and follow the road and it leads right to the school now. Logan is nice also, willing to host, but more than likely will hold a matchup of d2-d4 first before a d5-d7. They will Athens and Nelsonville for those. And for OU, I think the coaches at first put a stop to it, then I think the NCAA my have also said something. The state is lucky they still get to use the convo for basketball with all the new rules.

The drive to nelsonville wasnt the only problem. There wasnt enough seeting either. Valley brings alot more than nelsonville can hold. The only good things I took from nelsonville last year is: the people were friendly and the food was excellent. But I think it is just too small for the amount of fans that valley will bring.

And what I thought would not happen this year but is shaping up to do that very thing, another local team knocking out another local school and just plain sucks in my opinion.

Ridgewood loses 21-6 to Ntown and Col Acad is losing 28-0. Looks like Fort Frye will sneak in. Beating Rosecrans 53-0 in 3rd.

Top 2 are NOT locked....Valley can still get some 2nd level points from Chesapeake tomorrow night, and Ready can get some 2nd level from Fisher Catholic as well. Valley and Ready have the top 2 spots LOCKED, but the order of finish is still not decided.

If Peake wins, and FC loses...Valley is the #1.

1. Valley 26.1500
2. Ready 25.6786

IF Peake and FC win, Ready is #1, if Peake and FC lose, Ready is #1
