You may be right Pappy.. To my knowledge no one has ever posted accurately who we are scrimmaging. According to the OHSAA website we are scheduled to scrimmage Unioto on the 17th and Meigs on the 23rd.. The schools website is useless when trying to find information about our teams...

Gallipolis will be heard from this year. Just a little slow now.

gallia academy scrimmage at unioto on Saturday at 530. this replaces the scrimmage that gallia academy had to cancel against river valley. I was very excited at how team looked against valley. very solid first scrimmage. i have posted many times this summer that this team was a little behind. Tuesday night it looked like they have caught up. don't get me wrong still plenty of mistakes but about what you would expect out of first scrimmage.

Gallia should be a fun team to watch this season. They are going to play uptempo and spread the ball around.

As for the scrimmage...Both teams scored once during the 10 play segments. Gallia busted a long run off tackle that went for about 60 yards. Valley had a long drive where they got chunks of yards. Both teams also scored on the down and distance part with Gallia hitting a ball down the seem for about 55 yards and Rolfe keeping on the option to score from about 25 yards out for the Indians. Overall, I thought other that 2 big plays, Valley did a very good job defensively. They were without a starter and another possible starter due to injury. I saw a kid or two in street clothes for the Blue Devils as well, but I am not sure if they were contributors or not.

One thing that stands out to me was seeing Gallia in a full scrimmage wearing shorts. I don't think I have ever seen that. They were wearing knee pads and I am sure that they had on some type of girdle with the upper leg protection, but it was still weird to see nonetheless.
