I truly hope Coach Duncan can get this program turned around and headed into the right direction. It was great watching the PHS vs IHS of the late 90s and early 00s. I wish them the best of luck in this endeavor.

Hollins is a beast! He's bigger, stronger, and faster than last year! Hopefully he gets used properly! If so this kid is a game changer. I look for big things from the men of Troy this year.

Stopped briefly at practice last night, and counted about 44-45 kids. Tackling was being practiced hard!!

Awesome, trojandave!

Studies show there is a direct correlation between tackling your opponents for little or no gain and winning football games.

Any chance Portsmouth could drop to D6 in the OHSAA shuffle this week?

Not a chance!

Portsmouth was at 190 male enrollment.

The Division 5 numbers were from 150 to 200.

http://ohsaa.org/sports/ft/boys/ftregion.htm

Therefore, there is no way that Portsmouth will drop to Division 6 since they were only 11 boys away from Division 4.

http://ohsaa.org/news/misc/20150806enrollment.pdf

The Ohio High School Athletic Association board of directors deliberated Thursday and voted
to remove students who attend community schools and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
schools from their local public school enrollment counts. This decision changes the OHSAA’s previous policy and
will result in the OHSAA revising and reposting the enrollment counts for each school and the divisional alignments
that will be used for the upcoming fall tournaments. Winter and spring sports divisional alignments will follow in
the near future.

When I clicked on the Albany Alexander game, it said that the game was being held at Spartan Stadium!

Great idea, Coach Duncan!

Portsmouth's home record at Trojan Coliseum is only 10-20 (.333):

2009 - 3-2
2010 - 2-3
2011 - 2-3
2012 - 0-4
2013 - 1-5
2014 - 2-3

Oh Spartan Stadium! What a great place. I wish that stadium could have been renovated and turned beautiful again. But that is a great idea for the Trojans to play there again.

Is this because of some problems at the new house?
