Uh, how about tossing Shadyside and Newark Catholic in there too.

Pretty sure Shadyside lost a lot to graduation, and heard Newark Catholic is still down.

While Shadyside did lose some quality players to graduation, they always seem to field a quality team. When was the last time they had a losing season or missed the playoffs?

And as far as Newark Catholic goes, I've read they have some questions on offense, but with the quality of their schedule, they'll be well tested. If they can get in, I could see them making a run. Wonder how the area teams would fair against the likes of teams like Portsmouth West, Watkins Memorial, and Granville.

Caldwell lost exactly 1 starter (all ohio punter/tight end Tanner Baker who was hurt on the first possession against Trimble and didn't return) from last years 11-1 team that lost 14-10 to Trimble on a score with 9 seconds to go on 4th and goal from the 8 yard line. They were stopped on the goal line in the third in that game and controlled all but the third quarter of it. They are going to be a load, beefed up schedule though as they won by an average of around 40 a game last fall. Senior tailback Bricker Lori will be going for his third consecutive 1000 yard and all-Ohio season and could crack 5000 career rushing yards. Senior quarterback Tanner Clark will be gunning for over 8000 yards of career offense. They return two junior linebackers who collected over 100 tackles each and Senior tackle Chance Rucker (6'4 290) was a first team all-Ohio player last year. This team has essentially started since they were freshman, are all upper class men and will be very good barring any significant injuries.
