week 6:East (4-1, 1-0) @ Northwest (3-2, 1-0)

Post by EastBeast06 »

Another SOC 1 showdown between two contenders for the title. Northwest coming off a close win over Eastern while East falls to a very tough Valley team. Thoughts on this one?

Winner takes a huge step in the direction of the SOC-I Title (or a share of it), the loser will have a tough row to hoe for an outright title. Gotta go with the Mohawks at home against the Tartans!

East wins this one and moves on! East will bounce back and put a beating on the next 5 contenders!

I'm picking Tartans to win by a score of:

East -31
NW -14

Drop down 2 divisions against teams with 20-25 players. You should win!!! Play against teams your size and you get spanked.

I agree! East is better than last weeks look and I pick them to win the SOC I. and yeah.....Northwest gets totally spanked against teams in there own region or division and so does Oak hill! LOL

now they play small schools for a little competition and I still think East will beat them this year!

The key for a Mohawk win Friday night will be how well their defense plays. No question NW can put some points up there, but the defense will have to play their best game to date! East will come to play with a chip on their shoulder after a thumping at Lucasville last weekend! Winner gathers speed toward an SOC-I Title and the loser may have to hang onto hopes of a share of it or the chance to just play spoiler. One thing is for certain! Both of these programs are gonna get a gut check Friday night! Should be a dandy in McDermott! Mohawks by a touchdown!

Northwest is the biggest school in the county, and should not be in SOC I.

Looks like the rain will be around for awhile this evening! NW must take care of the football, be patient on offense and play great defense in order to get past the Tartans tonight! Winner of this game definitely takes a step in the right direction toward an SOC-I Title!

Thought this was going to be a good game. Northwest totally dominated this game, but they should D5 should dominate D7 teams. Most of the times anyway.

Flash, check your facts before you post. Minford, west, Portsmouth all are bigger than Northwest.

Great win for Northwest! Former East Lineman of the Year coaching that O-line & D-line at Northwest! Coach Tommy Caudill who probably understands the game better than most coaches in SOC I! I understand they run a version of the Double Wing that Sciotoville Tarjons ran when Coach Caudill played at Sciotoville! Which reminds me; Tommy I need my playbook and videos back! Just kidding!

Great win for the Mohawk Nation! Keep it up! Tarjons need to get ready for Eastern! Could be a good one to hear about! Hope it don't rain! Could end up being a repeat of week before.

They are all really close in enrollment. It changes every year.

Well, did not see that coming! Congrats to the Mohawks on a solid victory! Really feared that the Tartans would find a way to win this game. The program at Northwest is coming along nicely. Not so many years ago the "red and blue" was getting thumped by these same small schools. Gotta walk before you can run. The ultimate goal is to return to the SOC-II and compete every year, minus some down years (West is having one this year)! Again, congratulations to the kids and the coaching staff at Northwest High School!
