Minford was up 35-7 with :58 left in the 3rd quarter, got gassed, then got sloppy. Minford couldn't control the line of scrimmage b/c the strength just isn't there, got beat in every phase of the game in the 4th, and lost it in the 2OT. Unbelievable!
WOW, with the play clock Minford could've ran a play and then not snapped it until 1-2 sec. left on the clock and really killed the clock. Assuming they don't give up the big play defensively it's pretty tough in high school to give up that much of a lead with that little time left.

Can't let them start 3 straight times inside our 30 hard on the defense no matter what the score was and that Momentum was all they needed.

FTBLFAN wrote: Wed Oct 04, 2017 7:55 am I keep hearing about the QB and the offense for Minford, does the coach not watch JV games? I know varsity is different but come on, I watched last year JV as QB (N.Mccormick) threw touchdown after touchdown to the same kid. Now neither are playing offense on varsity. If anyone deserves a chance at QB it is him. The JV team I watched last year is better than this years varsity. At least on offense. The coaching staff at Minford is a joke, another coaches kid/family scored last week so not all is lost.....but the game! Put your 5 fastest kids at the skilled positions with Mccormick at QB and see what happens!
JV kids are going to look different playing against Varsity players. Trust me.

And wasnt it the Lewis kid that scored the TD? If we were watching the same game, he caught everything that was accurately thrown to him and then outran everyone from West on the hitch and go that went for 6. So whats your complaint with that? That his last name is Lewis? To me he looks like one of the most sure handed receivers that Minford has and is still very speedy.

If there was a head scratching emoji I would enter it 20 times right now.
Agreed
I said that because there are kids on the bench that are faster, bigger, and can catch just as well. I'm not complaining about the kid I was complaining that those other boys have never been given a chance to do it!! There are two receiver starters that only catch about 1/2 the balls thrown to them. I'm telling you there are players not getting to play for coaches selfishness and ego problems. When you ask them why some players don't play they give BS reasons that just aren't true. Don't have to believe me but it's true. So scratch your head all you want and by the way what is MINFORD's record. And don't give me the crap it takes time. You may be right but the peewee program was still running wing tee!! And if you don't have the right players at the right positions because of BS reasons you will never win!!

I have to wonder why the Lewis kid never played after looking so good at WR against West. He really only went in the 1 play that he threw the long bomb to Tilley for a TD.

True. I agree. It takes time for kids to develop a solid understanding of this system.

I only caught updates on here for this game. How did it get from 28-7 to 35-35? Did Minford let up? What’s the deal on that?
I agree and disagree. Under normal circumstances I would agree with you. With certain variables, it will never work.

The loss vs Logan wasn't on the offensive side of the ball.

When you are up 28 points and give up around 4TD in 60 seconds it sounds like the offense couldn't keep a drive going to run out the clock. Defense didn't have time to rest.

There comes a time when have to line up and run the ball, that being said 28-7 with app 3 min to go in the 3rd you need to start melting the clock, especially when you have a def that's gave up some plays this year, offense has to finish the game off🤓

Yeah throwing on 1st and 2nd down at that point was stupid. So was all of the short kickoffs when the kicker can kick it deep and Logan didn't exactly have a strong return game.

Lots of head scratching going on.

Wow reading through this thread hard to believe such a blown lead, and bottom line this ^^^ is pretty right. Just melt the clock man you have a 12-minute quarter to get through and 3-4 possessions. Tough loss.

For Logan fans, how do we feel about this game? Was it enough to satisfy Chiefs nation?

Minford was always a team that compeated and expected to win. The past few seasons have really been a let down. I think Coach took over at a bad time or a sort of rebuilding time, however to lose a lead like that, it falls on the coaching staff. Previous head coach and DC had grit and a punch you in the mouth type system. Everything was earned with those guys. That is gone with the new coaching staff. My opinion is it's time for something or someone else. But the AD may have a hard time making that decision....

Before this game I thought they would go 3-1 and that makes a 4-6 season . If they could win out and go 5-5 I think with the talent they have people will be OK .

I think a lot of Logan people probably think Logan should win this game easy under normal circumstances. The kids could have given up easily after getting down by so much and having a rough year to boot, but they stuck together and didn't give up, that you have to give credit to the coaches for keeping their heads in it. I think the next game against Scioto will be another rough lopsided game after seeing Scioto earlier this year they are quick as lightning which will give Logan fits since they don't have great team speed this year, but they should win the last two games which will give them a little boost going into next year.

I see a loss with Scioto but no reason they can't finish the season strong with 2 wins. But the program needs looked at.

The staff needs to take a hit look in the mirror.
