Portsmouth vs Ironton. I think it’s the 2nd oldest rivalry in the state. Burg vs Portsmouth was very good as well.

Otto wrote: Tue Aug 21, 2018 8:50 pm There were a few years back in the late '90s/early '00s when Burg and Portsmouth had a good rivalry. It was always the last game of the regular season and it was treated like a big deal at the time. Obviously that game isn't even a thing anymore, but back then I remember there was a lot of animosity between the two schools.
The good ole days! I would love to see Portsmouth turn it around and get back to that!
Burg fans talking about the good ole days? Better watch out, your starting to sound like Ironton fans. :D
Hahahaha got me!!!

Frontier claims Fort as a rival.

I’d still say Waterford

For Bellaire it is Martin's Ferry. St Clairsville and Shadyside are also heated rivals.

Gallia Academy:

Traditionally, Jackson or Point Pleasant.

Recently, River Valley has turned into a nice way to spend Week 2, as the whole county is involved.

FU-BC is an underrated rivalry. Back in the days of the “old MSL”, before c. 1992 with realignment, we saw FU as a huge rival. Ya’s, and LU. Nowadays, we see FU as a friendly school with great social intermingling. Oh, how disappointed the ‘boomer generation and early gen X were/are in us!

I know Fu and Fc didn't play basketball for years because of issues at games in the early 80s(i believe). My dad has talked about hating fc when he was in school. Imagine my families feeling when i married an Fc alum!! Lol.

At The Peake:

Fairland and Coal Grove, for me I'd have to throw in Rock Hill because of how dirty they played back when I was in school, oh wait they are still dirty players.
