One of the most dominating performances by a Waverly team going against a quality opponent that I can remember. Tigers excelled in every facet of the game. And what a difference it makes when kickoffs can't be returned.

Nice balance to our attack as well as Tigers mix in both short and long passes with runs and even a little trickery. No chance of keying on any one thing or person.

Last but not least we seemed to play with an edge. As if the kids had a chip on their shoulder. You just can't overstate how important it is to be ready to play and play with energy. Just a huge win on a beautiful evening. Homecoming to boot. We'll savor this one for a couple days and then on to West.

Yes, the defense - stopping the run - is the main issue. However, with Shanks out (or limited), the offense is hampered. The offense was built around what Shanks was able to do. Changes were made to escape Fairland with a W but that same scheme/plan will not beat Amanda. Shoemaker is a great, great talent but Amanda will not let him run for 362 yards on 41 carries and it’s unconscionable to think the staff would put that load on the young man again. If he didn’t have to play a down of defense it might be different. It’s been said over and over but an athlete like Will Futhey has to touch the ball more than 2 times (2 catches at Fairland). The ball should be in his hands 10-15 times a game. Wolf, Stulley & Morrison are genuine threats. Zeke Brown, while out right now, is a beast. Shoemaker needs his 20-25 carries but to beat Amanda the offense is going to have to be more diverse. WAVERLY HAS THE TALENT AND PLAYMAKERS!
DING DING DING, perfectly put. Good Luck to you guys Friday night, Aces are stout but beatable and it's going to take more than Shoe to do it.

WRONG, congrats to Waverly on a huge win.

Best performance I've seen from a Waverly team in a long time. Great win over a quality team! A.C. had a big strong team and was the real deal and Waverly came to play! If Waverly continues to play at this level the rest of the season they will be 9-1 going into the postseason! What a performance tonight!

Thanks everyone for the game updates and stats!

Question for those in attendance. Was AC focusing on Shoemaker and discounting the possibility that Shanks would play?

No i don't think so. Waverly just put on an offensive and defensive clinic tonight. Waverly kept the A.C. defense guessing all night. Perfect mix of play calling. It was impossible to key on any one thing or player. Waverly looked like the New England Patriots tonight. Lol...seriously!

I can't say enough good things about the way this Waverly defense played tonight. They only gave up 1 touchdown vs a big, strong, athletic A.C. offense! Defense wins championships and tonight they were physical and dominant.
