It comes in cycles for ZT and right now they're at the bottom end of that cycle. ZT is just one of those schools that won't be consistently at the top all the time but every 5-10 years they'll have a nice team come through and have a 2-3 year run.

As far as this game goes, ZT defense is terrible so look for Adena to score as much as they'd like. Adena with a running clock.

ZT is capable of keeping games close for a half or so, but they lack the depth to do it for 4 quarters. I think this could be close for the 1st half with Adena possibly looking toward a big game in WK10. In the end, I'll take Adena 35-14.

Yep, just like all the SVC schools. SE & PV are at the end of their good cycles now. Adena's dropoff will come after the 2020 season(They'll drop back to midpack for a year or two, then it's gonna be really bad!). Unioto has enough kids in the school that their dropoff will probably never be too drastic. Piketon & Westfall are on the upswing this year. I think you'll see ZT on the upswing next year. Huntington...it may be a while!

I think Zane Trace Junior High football went undefeated this year. Coaching changes have a lot to with consistency of any sports program.

Did Adena pull there starters after being up 29-0, or did ZT just start playing better ? I bet the starters were in at the end of the game. I also thought that Adena would win by a larger margin.

Kind of an odd game. Adena jumped out to a 21-0 lead quickly using the passing attack. They went pretty vanilla after that. ZT played well against the run for the most part. It was 29-0 going into the 4th. Adena playing mostly backups at this point. ZT scores, gets onside kick, scores again, Adena fumble, ZT scores, Adena starters back in to finish it. I'd say there was some looking ahead to next week, but ZT never gave up.
