Region 27: Two Spots Left

Post by formerfcfan »

...assuming that Eastern takes care of business against the Tomatoes.

Drew Pasteur this morning put out a couple tweets explaining the best way to discern who’ll make the final spots in a given region. Using his methodology and his calculations, this is how it breaks down.

Four teams competing for two spots...

12.01 (11.29-12.84) SV win
11.81 (11.81-12.17) Frontier win**
11.56 (10.84-12.75) FC win
9.72 (9.22-10.84) RV win**
9.48 (9.48-10.21) Frontier loss
9.46 (8.74-10.65) FC loss
9.19 (8.47-10.02) SV loss

Frontier win = River out; River win = Frontier likely out and River needing help. Looking highly unlikely that both make it in.

If SV, FC and River win: River and Frontier eliminated

If SV, FC and Frontier win: River is eliminated, and FC likely draws dead even at 8-2.

Another way to look at it...

if you’re a Symmes Valley fan: it’s just as simple as beating Northwest. That simple. If SV loses, the Willow Wood faithful will need a laundry list of teams spanning half of Ohio to all win so that they knock out the L2’s FC and Frontier/River stand to gain and pass SV over with even if those teams themselves lose.

if you’re the token FC supporter on this board, you’re going to bring the red scarves, blue pants and white t shirts in support of the Northwest Mohawks and River Pilots. Even if FC craps it up, those two favorites (in your heart and in the projections) carve a path into the 7th or 8th seed.

If you live in Newport or “New Mat”, a win and your Cougars are in. If you can get cell service at the field, you’ll be keeping an eye for a Northwest victory and cheering “Fly, (Troy Christian) Eagles Fly” in the event Frontier loses.

If you’re a River Pilot fan, you need a win no matter what and help. Some potential help (Northwest over SV) will come easy and is the simplest path to get the #8 seed. A SV win doesn’t eliminate River, but it doesn’t appear that an FC loss alone gets River in even with a Pilots win.

Didn’t think reedsville was a lick yet? Thought with a loss and a couple wins they are eliminated?
