Wellston will score late in garbage time. Only way they score early is from an Ironton mistake or they come out firing on all cylinders like they were against NY or early in the season. Either way Ironton will take this game over quickly.

I don’t know how Wellston is going to score. A big target receiver and Molihan if healthy but Ironton looks like 40 point favorites here. All being said, Wellston has had a big season and should be very proud. They started strong and need to find a way to finish strong with like a 14-7 half score....but Ironton is a machine. Good Luck to Wellston and hope both teams go injury free.

Yeah I’m sure they will come out pumped for the schools 1st playoff appearance since 2006 but I think at some point it will look like they have never been there ironton is playing too good right now just need to hold onto the ball better

Wellston's season comes to an end, but congrats on 7-3 and a play-off berth. When was last time the Rockets were in Tank Stadium? 70's SEOAL days?

Talking to some of the SEOAL guys would of been in the early 80s

Couldn't remember if Rockets left SEOAL in 78-79 timeframe or 80-81, but I don't imagine the two teams have faced each other since that era in Tank Stadium.

Yep, both got out of the SEOAL in 83-84 year I believe and Ironton went to the OKAC and Wellston left along with Meigs that year for the TVC.

Fossom's done some great things in his career at ironton. Hes a load coming at you. Carrico gets so much attention (and it is well deserved) but I tell you, it is really a team effort. I thought last night, I hate to single anybody out because so many of the other kids are stepping up and doing fantastic things. Take Kyle Hankins, he's been unbelievable but there I go again, mentioning particular kids. They're just becoming something very special. They've worked so hard at it.

I’m very happy for Wellston to advance.

I remember my junior and senior years (1981-82) driving up there with high school buddies to watch our other friends during roundball seasons.

Crazy drives, GOOD TIMES!

Anyway, happy Wellston is coming to TheTank again.
It’s always a dark November for me when the FighTing Tigers don’t advance, so over 13 years for the Golden Rockets has been a long time and it has to be awesome for their kids and fan base. CONGRATS!!!

I’m totally in agreement with KANTUCKY about the naming of the players. I’ve been doing that myself and realized it needed to be reeled in for various reasons.

I will say, being able to watch on Facebook is amazing & my jaw drops at how much talent Ironton has. It’s a very well oiled unit. When firing, it’s very impressive.
They have so many offensive choices and it’s all coming together.
The DeFense is scary good!!!
What a turnaround that has taken place @ Ironton & I have no shame in dropping Coach Pendleton’s Name. The staff in place has motivated the kids & community &
I’m LOVING IT!!!

Thank You coach P and STAFF!!

An old fashion SEOAL matchup. Wellston's last year was the 1981 season. It was Logan's only win that year. This one will probably be over by halftime. Congrats to the Rockets for a fine year and making the playoffs.

correct. ironton played at wellston in 1981. I believe that’s the last time these two teams played

Is that a done deal as far as how seedlings unfold for the playoffs as the region dwindles from QRTR finals to semis?

It’s been a minute since my brain had that memorized,or is it based on proximity for the semis?

they were still there when I played in the mid 70's.
our fighting tigers need to not read all this stuff about blowing out wellston, 40 point favorites and the like. this team is in week 11 for a reason. take them lightly and we'll get a golden rocket in yer backside. take them as serious as every other opponent. trust me , I am.

@ this point in this chess match you should be watching every breath, every eye twitch, every movement of blood In the neck veins of the opponent.

Just like a true tiger in the wild.

The IronTon FighTing Tigers need to be that focused!
