Are the playoff teams with bye weeks still guaranteed a ten game schedule?

The top 8 teams in each region get a bye week next week to start the playoffs. Are those teams still allowed to play a ten game season, even though they are going a week without playing anyone? I hope everyone has the chance to play a full ten game season.

There are byes in virtually every bracket. It isn’t always the top 8, but enough to ensure the 2nd round has 8 games.

As for getting the number of games in, there is no guarantee - it is up to the school to schedule a game this week if they have a bye (and then once eliminated from the playoffs). The question would be, do you want to play another presumably good team (it’d likely be against another team with a bye, unless you could get an opt-out to play) this week in a meaningless game or rest everyone and maybe be healthier for the playoffs?

If a team gets knocked out. They must certainly do have the option to pick up a game. Up to 10. Or one of the two. Weeks of either regional finals or state semis ??

Plus teams can schedule a game during their bye week if they choose, so plenty of chances to get 10 (or more) games in.

would be crazy to schedule a game on your bye week if the covid would happen to hit during that game you would most likely have to forfeit the playoff game.
