Post Playoff Exhibition Matchups

Post by LeftHanded »

Sadly, we are going to see some teams getting eliminated from the playoffs in the next coming weeks. However, this means we might see some fun matchups scheduled soon.

What matchups would you like to see? (Non conference)

Waverly had a scrimmage/jamboree game with Warren this year.

I would like to see a Waverly vs Ironton or Jackson. Think they would be interesting matchups.

Fact! All I see is how it’s cupcake compared to D5. These guys have no clue lol

I didn't get to see the Waverly vs Warren scrimmage, but from what I read here on SEOP, Waverly handled them fairly easy.

I think Ironton beats both those teams this year. There was talk of a MSML vs Ironton matchup week 2 this year. A reliable source told me Ironton staff wanted to play but MSML respectfully declined. People in Southern Ohio fear certain names
of programs or leagues and don’t even know what the program looks like that year. You do realize although Ironton lost the state title they out gained Kirtland in total yardage and Kirtland had to resort to trick plays and unbelievable catches to move the football. . Many of you would pick Kirtland over both teams because Kirtland has faired really well vs. the MAC. I believe Ironton is on Kirtlands level and people are soon going to find out.

Yes I realize that. I realize Clinton won the popular vote also. What’s your point? If that’s the case why didn’t you guys resort to trick plays and unbelievable catches as well? When we wouldn’t bend or break like the teams you’re used to playing, you guys had 0 answers for it. I expect the same this year if there is a rematch. I heard the same thing last year. Good luck. Even we would be underdogs vs MSML or Coldwater and we’d be favored vs you guys. No way they beat either of those 2. I highly doubt MSML would turn down anyone but if you want to believe the “talk” go ahead. They are always looking to schedule up and have beaten some bigger schools. Everyone that faces MSML says they will beat them yet they are at the state final every year and if they were in D5 it wouldn’t be any different. Let’s puts this in perspective because you guys all say D6/D7 is cupcake compared to the mighty D5. Maxpreps has Coldwater (D6) at 36 in the state. They have MSML (D7) at 39. They have us (D5) at 45 and they got you guys (D5) at 68. We are 145-7 .954 over the last decade so good luck to you but there’s slim chance we lose with the exception of playing Coldwater or MSML. Guess where 3 of the 7 losses came from? Coldwater and MSML. We already witnessed what the MAC will do when playing teams in that area. The ‘15-‘16 14-1 Pirates. They entered that game 14-0 and was many people’s favorite to win it all. Coldwater put a running clock on them in one of the most lopsided semifinals I have ever seen. I guess 145-7 with 5 state titles is a fluke since we had to resort to trick plays and unbelievable catches lol

It’s on YouTube. It was 42-7 in 2 Qt.

They would still beat us I think, but it wouldn’t be 42-7 at half.
