There we go, just what any thread has been missing. A NY fan complaining about the field. If only every school could have a turf field:)
If one of the poorest districts in the county (Coal Grove) can have turf than I believe Fairland can come up with the money for turf.
Bucks traveled to Coal Grove a while back for a 7on7, beautiful facility.

Our hs doesn't have air conditioning let alone a turf field.

Coal Grove's turf was a private donation by Jim Lemaster (the Giovanni's Guy)

Good for the OVC !......!!!...!!!!.!!!!.....should be a good one and tough to beat a team twice.

The N-Y / Fairland game was controversial to say the least.

Don’t count on OHSAA ruling on anything. I don’t remember them ever changing the outcome of any football game due to officiating “errors”. Short of an official committing murder on the field, I doubt they will get involved.

Privately they might deal with officiating issues but the public will never hear about it. I’m an official. Generally officiating errors become training videos in future years for officials.

This season, due to so many schools participating in the playoffs, OHSAA used regular season crews instead of mixed “all star” crews. This means that some unqualified officials, who would never be selected for an all star officiating crew, are working playoff games. I’m not saying that is what happened at Fairland, I have no idea who officiated that game.

Agree. I’d get some time in on the baseball outfield this week.

I agree that NY should be fighting mad, but I don’t think you’re going to see OHSAA change anything.

Nothing will change. Bad calls happen every year. It sucks but that game is not the only game to ever have that happen. As far as this game I still think fairland wins by a score. But coal grove is rolling right now and I wouldn’t be surprised if they win. The Stapleton kid is a monster and he destroyed Portsmouth’s defense. I’d use him as much as possible.

Hmmm... SEOPS HOF then surely you know that OHSAA selects ALL officials for EVERY playoff game not the school. Our kids... yes it is kids y’all are talking about could’ve gave up when the kid scored with 27 seconds left in the game but we didn’t. The officiating is out of their hands but the HEART that they showed was in their control. The Nelsonville-York team is very good, with some great athletes! Their Head Coach was a class act. You all need to quit taking away from the boys and girl on the team because of “officiating” .

From what I've read, noone has said a thing about the fairland players. Complaining about officiating is allowed.

Mended Reeds does not own the old RH high school. The County owns it and it’s the site of the juvenile center on one half and the alternative school on the other

The Grover's gained a whole new fan base over the weekend. I'm going with the Hornets and the ground game and hoping It's a mud pit.

I’ll go with the Grove, only because my wife went to school there.

Fun matchup, inter-county 'rival' for a chance to move on to the Regional Finals.

I think Grove wins this one in a nailbiter. Their program looks headed in the right direction with some good young talent.

Basically all of SEOPREPS wants to see Fairland get pounded. Both these teams will get killed by Fort Frye
