Both an intriguing and sad read rolled into one. Today's running clock mercy rule and social justice theory I guess would preclude such beat downs. The highest scoring game I have witnessed was Waverly at Minford in 1962 , with the Tigers prevailing 86-0

I ownder what it was like to be on the losing end of one of those games. I noticed the high score was 174 by Mechanicsburg. How in the crap would a team even manage to score that many points? I have seen some absolute beatdowns and still cant imagine scoring that much.

Back in the day in was considered wise to use the rule where when the other team scores you kick back to them for field position. Some of these games the losing team would almost always be on defense.
