Portsmouth 35 - 21 Rock Hill 2022

Post by PTrojan59 »

Rock Hill will travel down to scioto county Friday night with a 2-1 record to take on the Trojans. Rock Hill isn’t very good from what I hear. Wins over Vinton County & Oak Hill. Portsmouth coming off a tough last minute loss WV powerhouse Spring Valley. Portsmouth should be able to name the score in this one. They will be much faster than RH. A win puts the Trojans back at .500 with a 2-2 record with Gallia coming to town.

The Trojans should win this one with ease, but if Rock Hill happens to find a passing game the Trojans could be in trouble. The Trojans secondary has been burnt in every game thus far. Then after being burnt they don’t try and run anyone down, instead they just give up.

Portsmouth huge. Rock hill will run the ball every play if they are up 20 or down 20. If they passed they could possibly have a shot but my guess is the defensive game plan is not hard this Friday. Trojans with a running clock is my guess.

Hope Portsmouth wins.

Portsmouth was faster than West as well.

Portsmouth struggles to stop power rushing.

Portsmouth struggles to stop the pass as well lol. Trojans may have been slightly faster than West but I think West has good team speed to mix in with the power they have. I’m not sure Rock Hill can throw the ball. So the Trojans should be able to stack the box and not have much to worry about through the air unlike what West did. Stacked the box to stop Sissel and Irwin had a field day. Portsmouth defense seemed to look better last week after a halftime adjustment. Spring Valley still ran the ball but it wasn’t really up the middle. They were stuffed several times trying, their success was running to the outside. I think Rock Hill will score some point but I am fairly confident they won’t be able to stop Portsmouth’s offense.

I’ll say Portsmouth wins 47-21. Lattimore going to play this week? Not starting rumors but I thought he was held out for injury last week, my nephew said that wasn’t the case…

I can see this game going either way. If Rock Hill can play like they did in the 2nd half against Oak Hill, Rock Hill on top by no more than 2 scores. Their kicker will play a big role in this game.

Despite losing to Spring Valley, the second half of that game should give the Trojans confidence going forward. Against SV, they didn't give up and fought back from a 28-7 deficit to take a 31-28 lead against a good Timberwolves team. Offensively, they were able to put 4 TD's on the board, and defensively held SV to only 7 points after halftime (the INT for a TD doesn't count against the D).

Rock Hill traditionally is a run heavy program, and expect more of the same on Friday. Portsmouth has to able to contain RH's running attack, and not let them chew up the clock by moving the chains.

So far in 3 games, PHS is averaging 27 PPG, while giving up 32 PPG.

The Trojans going forward have a good chance to have a winning season if the formula they executed after halftime of the SV game becomes more of the norm rather than the exception.

GO TROJANS!!

Portsmouth by a lot.
Spring Valley is a power house in Wv every year.
Portsmouth is an average team, just goes to show ya the gap between WV high school football and Ohio.

Watched the Spring Valley game on YouTube lastnight.
They definitely didn't give up, played hard and had a chance to win. Pendleton played his heart out like he always does. I've always been impressed with Reade.

Rock Hill needs to control the ball and have long drives and make sure they payoff with TD's in order to win this game.
Portsmouth can score with their speed and athletes but if they don't have the ball it will be hard to do.
low scoring Rock Hill wins shootout Portsmouth all night long

Made a couple grand on the NBA Finals a couple years ago. Also picked all four Final Four teams and the national championship correctly last year.

Is there any news on the Lattimore kid? Heard he got suspended at school and could not be with the team this week.
