Ok that may be true, but D4? Warren is D4. They would be on the large side of "AA" if they were in WV.

Re: WK 10: Williamstown (7-0) @ Fort Frye (8-1)
The 414 is boys and girls for grades 9-12. Something doesn't add up. Magnolia enrollment is 375 and they are D6 according to Joe Eitel. Point Pleasant enrollment is 713 and they are D4.
Point Pleasant - 713 D4
Williamstown - 414 D4
Magnolia - 375 D6
Maybe that is correct but I'd like to know the reasoning behind it.
Re: WK 10: Williamstown (7-0) @ Fort Frye (8-1)
I’d always heard Williamstown would be D5 in Ohio. They’re bigger than what I thought as well.pioneer19 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 8:23 pmOk that may be true, but D4? Warren is D4. They would be on the large side of "AA" if they were in WV.
Re: WK 10: Williamstown (7-0) @ Fort Frye (8-1)
D5 would make sense, but even then they would be on the low end of D5 looking at the enrollment numbers. I don’t know why but I always thought Williamstown was a lot smaller.
Re: WK 10: Williamstown (7-0) @ Fort Frye (8-1)
I’m in the same boat. I guess you think “hm, they’re Single A” and then lump them in with all the super small schools you can think of around us. It’s easy to forget there’s variation in school sizes in the divisions in WV, just like Ohio. And probably because the Double A schools, like Point Pleasant, seem so much bigger than schools like Williamstown, even though they’re only one division higher.
Re: WK 10: Williamstown (7-0) @ Fort Frye (8-1)
The only thing I can figure is they’ve used the wrong number. Based on the 414 for 9-12, the formula would call that 207 boys x 0.75 = 155. Williamstown would be Division VI.pioneer19 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 8:23 pmOk that may be true, but D4? Warren is D4. They would be on the large side of "AA" if they were in WV.
If you look at some other sites, Williamstown’s enrollment is listed as 667, but that includes grades 7-12. If you disregard that the number includes two extra grades and just apply the formula, it comes up to 250, which would be Division IV.
If that is accurate, it’ll make about a .083 difference overall for a Fort Frye win.

Looking forward to taking in this one. Think the Cadets get the win, and not sure if it will be that close. Williamstown is good but has not been battle-tested in any way, shape, or form compared to Fort. Think FF wins by 14-17.

Cadets score a Td but it’s called back. Next play Cadets fumble and it’s returned 84 yards for a score by Williamstown.
