Heard last night that Portsmouth Notre Dame job is now open. Anybody that can confirm?*

Have heard same thing. Heard that Ashley was rehired but then at least 17 players stepped up and took a stand and now he is not returning. Take away the seniors and the coaches kids and that’s pretty much the entire team. Happy for the kids and so glad the kids voices were heard.

But haven’t heard of any replacement candidates yet.

Hadn’t heard all that. Doesn’t sound like a good situation though when that many kids are disgruntled.*

Very interesting to see who gets this job. Small program with a ton of potential as well as tradition.

There is nothing wrong with having high hopes, but I do not see this happening. It would be a good move for him, but I think he likes Ironton and being in his brother’s shadow.

Who cares if one parent pushed their kid to do it. The key is there was over 80% of the football team jumped on board and wanted a change. And obviously the school listened.

Oberling and Glockner families gonna have to fund a coach if it's a big time higher. Then they will have to pay to build a new indoor practice facility and then pay to fix that stadium. It doesn't matter what coach you hire if you can't do the last 2 things.

Two families possibly involved - yes. Those two above - no.
Oberling has really been out of decent financial support for quite a while.
