Burg got beat by Jackson and Ironton

Jackson and Ironton, and some burg fans think burg is falling off.

I don't. Let's wait to see what the season ends up like and then we can brag how great we are or aren't.
Convinced yet?

6th game if the season, and Burg O has made zero improvement since the first game.

Here are the cold facts:
- Game planning on O is consistently bad. Spread against HP does not work for Burg. O coaches need to quit forcing it!!
- Burg O and coaches cannot solve the turnover fiascos. This is inexcusable. Not Burg football at all.
- Burg O does not appear to have any identity. Again, inexcusable given we are at game 6.
- Burg has lost 4 out of the past 5 against Jackson and IHS. Has lost three in a row against HP.
- This will be the third season in a row with at least four losses. No coach has accomplished that terrible feat since pre-Ed Miller. Over 50 years!!

This Burg team has talent and very capable of being really good. Could easily be undefeated at this point. But the O coaching and execution is beyond terrible. These coaches are wasting this team’s potential.

Woodward needs to fix this!!!!!!

Undefeated?
No just don’t get beat by ironton and jackson every yr and win the SOC. Too much to expect?

Could be undefeated? Very possible if they didn’t turn the ball over at a record setting pace.

They lost the turnover battle to IHS by 2 but still only lost by 3 points due to Ironton playing bad themselves. IHS tried to give the game to Burg, but Burg’s two turnovers in the red zone were killers.

Against Jackson, it was 3-0 in turnovers yet Burg lost by one score. Again, just losing the turnover battle 1 or even 2, and the results are different.

Finally, four turnovers against HP with two in the red zone. Again, just two fewer turnovers and Burg possibly wins. Odds would have been even better if Burg would have avoided running the spread that does not work against good teams.

So yes, Burg COULD be undefeated right now if they were running the right offense for their personnel and more disciplined with the ball.

Exactly. Basically play like Burg has played for decades.

Could also be 2-4

True but not sure they could have played much worse against McNich.

I think that is more than reasonable to ask.

True but not sure they could have played much worse against McNich.
At this point in the season though that is kind of who/what this team is. The coaches have made changes that simply haven’t worked. This team is no better going into week 7 than they were in week one. Time to accept this team is an avg D5 football team , no better, no worse

That’s what I’ve been saying, but the cause is not lack of talent, it’s coaching, specifically with regards to the offense.

They seem to love the spread offense regardless of its effectiveness against good teams. It’s ridiculous that they refuse to change.

Idk, what are you going to do give 21 the ball 50 times a game because he’s the only one that gives you extra effort or ever breaks a tackle.

They have plenty of players that can run the ball.

If the players aren’t giving effort, that falls in the coaches.
