I can see a Burg won 35-6 not because I want it just the facts.
I would love to see a Portsmouth win just don't they have the D to do so .

I’d love for the Trojans to win, I don’t think it happens. But man you’re absolutely right. Imagine the uproar on here if Burg got upset. The Burg community would be in shambles, they’d shut down school for a week and provide counseling to anyone who needs it. Would be glorious.
    it's just a game and no Burg fans would wish PHS good luck in their next game lol 😆 some people take this game way too serious

Far from just a game pal. Burg losing football games is literally something that cripples the community. Look what happens every time Ironton beats them? Post are made the same night already about the next seasons game. Imagine if little old Portsmouth pulled the upset…they’d be calling for Woodward’s head.

This is the kind of games where a rivalry that was 20 years ago was stopped because one team couldn't make a game of it and stopped playing. Now this game has both sides fans excited but one side is more excited because they see this as an easy win to advance. In reality one side still is probably 4-5 touchdowns better. This is good gate wise and fans to get excited but in reality one team sees this as a a relaxing win into week 13 and all there fans are beyond excited to play in wk 13 But good luck to both teams tonite down on the river on rt 52. 45-7 final,

Burg fans don’t take losing well? That’s just shocking!!! I thought all fan bases enjoyed losing.

Heard Ironton fans were prepared to push the school admin to give Pendleton a raise if he lost to Portsmouth. But since IHS won, the fan base decided otherwise.

Game Day! This has been a fun thread to read this week. Not often Portsmouth associated football threads end up being double digit pages on here anymore. Go Trojans.

I seem to recall Ironton fans hyperventilating during the post Lutz Sr and pre Pendelton years, on this very site. I could name names but what is the point in doing so.

Name 1 game the Tigers have won they had no business winning in the past 3 years.

You can't and it isn't for lack of a tri-state put together team.

Trojans are playing good ball and on any given night anything is possible. It is a huge hurdle overcoming the Burg defense, but not totally impossible. Ed Miller, more than any other local location, is built for the atmosphere of tonight's game.

Burg 38-6. Portsmouth's one-dimensional offense won't fare well against a defense like Burg.

As for this series starting back up, don't see it happening anytime soon (unless SOC adds Portsmouth).*

LOL!!

After playing a reasonably close game against Ironton and beating Fairland, Portsmouth is a hot and confident team. Being at Burg is a huge advantage for the Pirates, but I have seen underdog Portsmouth teams pull the upset before.

Burg no doubt the favorite, but no way should Portsmouth be taken lightly.

Trojans can play loose tonight.

All the pressure is on burg. 👀
