Meanwhile right next door……
The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has implemented a "one-time transfer" rule, effective June 1, 2025. This rule allows student-athletes to transfer between IHSAA member schools once during their first six semesters of high school without penalty. They will maintain full athletic eligibility at their new school.

It’s now a part of everyday sports. Like it or not it’s here to stay.
Re: GHSA Cracking Down on Transfers
Being completely honest this right here is the best way to combat the transfers, I've never felt we should limit 15-18 yr old kids from moving around and we definitely shouldn't hold them to a higher standard that college players are held to or even coaches for that matter. I like the idea of a 1-time transfer rule, now some people are going to say what if a kid "moves" well it's just like they judge in state and out of state students the parents need to have correct address change on their license as well as the student if they have a driver's license. No more of this well we'll check and make sure, the school they're attending is responsible for checking do you really think they're going to?? So I'm all for some type of 1 time transfer but I will say it shouldn't be limited during first 6 semesters it should be a any time during HS career 1 time move.2quick2catch wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 4:05 pm Meanwhile right next door……

I agree , I like the 1 transfer regardless of address rule, after that should be legit move in the district. If you want to get real progressive throw in a coaching change clause that would void all guidelines and permit transfers when coaches leave.

Try our other neighboring state in WV. Similar to Indiana they also have a one time free transfer

Play with the cards dealt. The overwhelmingly majority of local teams will remain mediocre, at best, with or without transfers. Enjoy the ride, SENIORS.
