Re: Ironton board meeting
A board member and ex coach and a few hurt parents making waves is all.
Coach Pendleton has the support of previous players and current players he will be alright.
it is sad that so few can make a problem after a coach won a state championship.
Sadly that is why SE Ohio does not win Championships.
Because to many people hate success including those in their own communities

Who is the former coach? I assume the parents are upset that the coach doesn't recognize the huge talent of the kids that aren't getting playing time.

Keep stirring the pot. Sounds like the former coach is mad and getting his little crowd of family/friends to stir the pot as well. Jealousy…Waverlyguru01 wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:39 pm So in other words Ironton people are pissed non Ironton kids (recruits) are taking playing time. Im surprised it's taken this long.

Make population panic and create the narrative the beloved football coaches status is in peril on social media.
- Be very vague and dont provide context or details when they do it.
- Tell everyone to attend a meeting about it and "show support for coach."
Refuse to give ANY details or context regarding who what why.
- Get em at a meeting and use the gaslit turnout as "support" for the indoor sports facility pitch.
Nice grift.
Couldn't just be honest with your community?

Congratulations on the Wellness Center. I guess they are going to put the money earmarked to help with learning obstacles and mental health to good use with an indoor practice faculty.ohbuckeye2 wrote: Wed Jul 02, 2025 11:50 pm No problems in Tigertown, looks like the wellness center is going to be built, great job Fighting Tiger Nation……
I encourage everyone to google DPIA (Disadvantage Pupil Impact Aid) funds in Ohio and read what the money is suppose to be or could be used for. The amount of money each district across Ohio received is based off students who are eligible for free and reduced lunches.
Just to be clear… this isn’t COVID money. COVID (ESSER) funds had to be spent several years ago and is gone. This is DPIA money!

Re: Ironton board meeting
Yeah, it is a lot of money ($422 per student on free and reduced lunch, government assistance, and high risk learners). It can’t be used for salaries or staffing. It is a lot that could really IMPACT the learning of the youth of an entire school district. It is also money designed for K-12 students and counts all kids in the entire district.Old Time Tiger wrote: Sun Jul 06, 2025 9:39 amYeah, I'm from Ironton, and I'm scratching my head , how they turned $$ for disadvantaged youth into an indoor athletic facility??Pirate1745 wrote: Sun Jul 06, 2025 1:56 amCongratulations on the Wellness Center. Re: Ironton board meeting
Maybe they should take some of that money and pay for a tutor for you to learn how to read and write?Pirate1745 wrote: Sun Jul 06, 2025 4:31 pmWell, it is a problem when you take money for help bridge learning obstacles and use it for football then you have a problem.thirtyonetrap wrote: Sun Jul 06, 2025 10:31 amYeah let’s all bitchh about an indoor practice facility. I would highly suggest you Google DPIA and read for yourself. It is called disadvantage pupil impact aid for a reason.
