Minford 25-26 season

Post by Bengalsrule »

Thoughts on the upcoming year in Muletown? Do they make a jump to 5 wins?

1 to 5 is quite a jump but I’m hearing good things this year. I could see anywhere from 1 to 5 wins this year depending on a myriad of factors.

Yes, coach Jordan Michael enters year two as HC.

Unsure if any assistant coaches have changed or not.

So far heard the school gave a teaching position to someone else that he was waiting to come open. Typical Minford board bs.

Wow, that’s a tough break for him. I hope he finds a job somewhere soon.

Anyone know the status of the turf project? Last I saw it was well over half way to the goal but that was two years ago.

At some point do larger donors ask for their money back? Maybe if the accrue enough interest they’ll cross the finish line?

Think the falcons could fall anywhere from 3-6 wins just depending of different factors. From what I hear the program is definitely headed back in the right direction under coach Michael

Thats good to hear. A friend of mine told me he took a teaching position at East. I can't imagine why Minford would not try and keep him in the district there, especially with the low numbers last year. I just want to see them do well.

East is closer than Fairland which I think is where he was. I hear good things and I hope he’s able to get a job in the district soon.

2-3 is possible, 1-2 is most likely. Ppl have to stop with the I’m hearing good things from in june talk. Reality is until they fix the lower levels and develop throughout it’s going to be very tough for minford.

How involved has the coach been in the lower levels?

Well curiosity got the best of me. According to the Ohio Secretary of State, Minford Turf Project, INC. failed to file a statement of continued existence and as of 1/5/2024 they are no longer able to transact business in the State of Ohio.

He’s around during the season. I do wonder if he’s on board with 3/4 grade going back to tackle instead of flag. He would be the first coach I know of that wants tackle that early if he’s on board with that. If he’s not, then shame on the youth football folks.

All I know about Minford fb is mostly what I read on here. Honestly, over the 10 years or so based on what I've read, I don't know what direction the administration wants to go in. It certainly seems to be the last sport in the pecking order to me.

I did an interview with a Minford player. It is hidden on the site.

Yeah that was a project that had a ton of steam early on and then funds used elsewhere, I don't believe you'll ever turf there unless they want to make things nicer for the soccer team. Minford does a great job with their grass field, never really heard of anyone complaining about it and it's a refreshing change

Few things…
Coach Michael is great and the things he’s doing/wants to do is exactly what needs to happen. With Caudill getting a better NIL deal at Ironton, the likelihood of them winning more than 3-4 games is extremely unlikely. This isn’t a fault of the coach. The depth, the talent, the size etc isn’t up to par yet.

Minford turf fund stalled out and several donors pulled their money out. Soccer team/program, on their own, raised money to switch to Bermuda and the football guys at the time didn’t want to follow suit. I’d say they regret that decision now. Turf will only come to Minford if the school board pulls off a miracle to get a loan potentially like northwest did.

Last point. Until they have change at the top, things will remain this way for sports. I feel for the kids, the community, the AD and the coaches. Whatever “normal” is at most schools. I can assure you that things at Minford as not that way.
