Chillicothe 2008 football schedule

Post by 86cavs »

Here's the schedule for the 2008 season as for the away and home games it's a question mark and what order we are playing league games.

1.BrookHaven A
2.Big Walnut A
3.Thornville Sheridan H
I know the non-league schedule is correct about the A/H games.
4.Zanesville A ??????
5.Gallia H
6.Ironton H
7.Jackson A
8.Portsmouth A
9.Warren H
10.Logan H
Like I said ^ I don't know if the league games are in this order.

wow those first three games will be tough again. i still don't understand the reasoning for us going back to zanesville but whatever. can't wait of it to be august again. work hard this offseason boys and good luck to everyone who is involved in winter and spring sports, and stay healthy.

Hey he's back :!: :-D

We thought you disappeared after that mighty prediction concerning those infamous words, (run it down there throats comment) about Dresden Tri-Valley and there weak MVL.

I'll give you that our first two away non-league games wil be difficult, but we should have the upper hand at home vs Sheridan. We'll have to wait and see what the team looks like next year.

GO CAVS :!:

Sheridan loses a boatload of seniors. I think I heard 18 or 19 and they were all quality kids.

Paladin--I'll give you credit on this past year. You called it pretty close, but I think you need to look at our returning team a tad bit closer. I know I tend to be biased and see through those rose-colored glasses sometimes, especially since I know the kids and tend to let my personal feelings towards the kids make me think we'll be better than what we should be.BUT, If we don't put together a good season next year with what we have returning and coming up, then myself and the other coaches didnt do our jobs.OR we got hit w/ the injury bug.We lose zero linemen(well one Sr started some and rotated later in yr) We lose Z Ray and Juice on both sides. We also lose a DT in Corbin Tanner who we only had for the last 5 games anyway due to a broken foot in camp.We also lose John Naderson on the DL.Those four are big losses, but we have a very big core of starters returning plus a few very capable kids that are rising So's.We also lose a corner to graduation, but he also rotated the last few games w/ an underclassman. I personally think we'll be a pretty good teamIf we get a Dlineman and an end to jump in right away, our D-line should be as good as any in southern Ohio. Vest is a top notch NG , Curt Smith is a natural and David Dere really came on at drop end. We need to fill Juices spot and J.Andersons DT spot and we'll be fine. We also need a LB to step up and play beside Netter.
Last year I though we could possibly be good, but knew we needed a few things to go our way. Next year I think the only way we can have a bad year is if a few things dont go our way.

This up coming season for Chillicothe should be a very exciting year for Chillicothe Very senior dominating class alot of great D1 recruits out of this class. The Juniors out of this group will be very productive with this senior class and look forward to this junior group their senior year. All five kids will be D 1 recruits.Look out for some sophmores to get some playing time next year maybe starting at some spots.

86cavs--The d1 recruit thing might be pushing it a little.I have no doubt they can all play college ball, but you and I know how hard it is to play D-1.Dont get me wrong, I'd love to see them all go D1, I just look at it from a different philosophy. If they hear from coaches and others they are D1, then thye get a false sense of how good D1 kids really are, and have a greater chance of being let down. I think Clay may have experienced that a little bit.I was as guilty as anyone thinking he could ahve and should have wnet D1, but reality is, there are only so many schollies and it all dependes on NEEDS at the time they are being recruited. I figure one of those 5 is a shoe in just b/c he has a skill that speaks for itself. No size or certain "mold" is involved. The others don't quite fit the "mold" with size yet, but 2 years is a log time when they live in the wt rm.It's too bad that there is the "mold" factor. If your not that certtain size or shape, you'll most lieky be passed up b/c the D-1's have sucha large recruting base, they can find that kid that fit the "mold" pretty easy.
Not disagreeing w/ you to an extent, but I just don't think we should throw that term out so loosely. Kids need to see us being honest and realistic, so they dont get let down, plus they may work harder if they know they need to to get noticed by the biggies. But, I will say this.If they truley are D1 players, they're in the right place. We will help them get there, and you know thats true. If d-1 don't work, between you, me and the rest of the buffoons, we know some places they can go.(except the armpit of the WVIAC-Fairmont) :-D :-D :-D :-D

I'll give you Vest & Knights. Good players, but the rest of the foundation is shakey. The only thing you have going for you is the South will be weak again. Da Haven & Big Nut are losses again. Sheridan is a toss up game. Lost some players ,but they have lots of kids that played coming back. Don't take them lightly.

tiggers may have some size, but little speed and little finess ability. Gallia & Jackson will be down as well. Portsmouth is a wild card but misses upper class talent. No one is a real valid threat, so you may have some South games to win.

I feel ya. I just think we'll be ok w all of these kids having a year under their belt. Remember--the team we had this year only had 3 starters from the06 season. So, losing with9 returners on both sides, I'd say we have to be better than this year.Dont you think? Big Nut loses their entire starting line-up, save 3 total.Haven will be better. Sheridan will not get overlooked. According to a PHS informant, they will be down.I guess their next good class is this years Fr class. I'd also say we have a good chance vs your boys, seeing what you lose. We lose 13 Sr's of which 6 were starters. Plus 2 of those sr's only played half a season or so due to injuries.Next years Sr class will be at least 21 kids.Plus you always have to count on a transfer or 2:) 14 of those rising Sr's started. You have to admit, the future looks better than it did last year at this time. I'm just trying to give you some inside info you may have overlooked. I just want your reputation as booger picker, I mean game picker to stay intact.
Who knows, next season is a long ways off. We'll confer a lot betwixt now and then Im sure. You have plenty of time to change.:)
Go Blue!

Don't kid yourself, hilltop. You'll crap your pants when you see next years Logan team. They are loaded again. Size, speed & skill. Many D starters return and the Soph this year are very good. Lots of lettermen and talent the league won't believe.

Big Nut loses, yes, but re-builds a contender. They''ll be 6-4 or better and take you. Da Haven has some "transfers" coming in. They'll be loaded. Sheridan is a toss up you could win or lose.

You'll get a weak North team and Gallia, Jackson and probably PHS. tiggers will be your challenge and they won't be all that good . Ignore the noise from down on the river.

Your challenge is from the North, not the South.

Paladin,
They were suppose to have the very same skills against your playoff pick verses Dresden Tri-Valley. Right :?: :-D

Foot in Mouth disease is what many would diagose you having Paladin. :-D

We all saw how that worked out.

Can you count the times Chillicothe was at the 20 yard line verses Logan in this years game and couldn't get 1 point. Remember, the game is back on home-turf in 2008 at the Hernstein in week 10. This CAV Team will be a more mature and hopefully successful team verses this years squad. 55 players, plus new first time try outs, possible transfers from the infamous SVC Area, move in's to the district, due to Gladfelter (Mead) or Kenworth Jobs, plus a possible few Freshman that were eighth graders this year contributing on a limited basis. :-D

Hopefully it will be a better year. Oh, I just love how you relate to our fellow South Division kin, the (Ironton Fighting Tigers) as the tiggers, hopefully they will take to heart what you keep talking about them on here and the same effect will take place that happened to your Chieftians against the Scotties next year, but against the little guys from the South, i.e., Ironton, Chillicothe and Gallipolis. :-D

You never did respond to Ghostwriters question Paladin. We all know why. :-D

Just as Sherdian will not be taken lightly nor will Ironton either.

Keep predicting. We'll see you in week 10 at the Hernstein, hopefully you'll be eating some CAV humble pie. :-D

GO CAVS :!:

I like chilli's chances with Logan in 2008. The home team has won the last 5 meetings and the game is at Chilli.

The Chillicothe has beaten Logan's freshman team 2 out of the last 3 years.

I see Army is keeping the "Excuse Store" open in Chillicothe. First it's the refs, then it's the coaches, now it's "well we ALMOST"

Only you could turn a 47-18 game into "an almost." A 31-21 games is a "blow out" but a 47-18 game is a "woulda, coulda, shoulda"

You are reliable Army. Cavs are winning, you run your mouth. Cavs are losing, you DISAPEAR.

Fair weather fan you are. I show up win or lose.

Just remember: 47-18 Varsity and 26-6 JV

Because that's what you did last year! I hard to hear your crap ALL last season and all off season.

You're just like Ironton. You can dish it out, but you can't take it!

LOL, I'm laughing again. Army, you are a trash talker, and worse, a fairweather fan.

I'm sure if the basketball team struggles (which I don't expect), you'll jump off that bandwagon too just like you did football.
