I think coach Moore just wanted him to beef up Massilons O line.
I don't think the judge will grant the injunction.

Why did ohsaa wait so long to rule him out to play? I thought ohsaa would just have him play at Jackson since the Moore's live in that district.

The transfer did not occur until April 2016 and so a finding by the OHSAA in August is very timely.

I'm sure that even if the Moore's motives were completely pure, which at this point in time I am stipulating that they were: and they had no purpose whatsoever other than to help the kid, and then if Nate Moore enrolled him at Jackson where he resides, the LOONIES in the Massillon Tiger Football Booster Club Inc would have crucified Moore, and run him out of town.

It would no doubt have cost Moore his job which was given to him by the Massillon Tiger Football Booster Club Inc which has infested, and seized the Massillon City School District Board of Education.

So poor Nate Moore had no choice in the matter except to enroll the kid at Massillon: if not: the FOR SALE signs would have popped up in his yard and anonymous death threats started coming in to terrorize him into leaving as in the case of Tom Stacy.

Coach Moore has other violations coming down the pike.
He tried to recruit a couple Canadian players over the summer.

Associate Commissioner Deborah Moore expected to testify in final day in front of Stark County Common Pleas Judge John Haas. Hearing to resume today at 1 p.m.

By Chris EasterlingGateHouse Ohio Media

CANTON The arguments why Nate and Becca Moore took legal custody of senior Thayer Munford and brought him to Massillon were at the center of the first day of the injunction hearing in front of Stark County Common Pleas Judge John Haas.

When the hearing's second day commences in Haas' courtroom, the Ohio High School Athletic Association's decision to rule Munford ineligible to play for the Tigers should be the focus. It will resume today at 1 p.m. You can follow along on IndeOnline.com and CantonRep.com with live updates from the courtroom when testimony begins.

On the second day, the witness stand is expected to feature OHSAA Associate Commissioner Deborah Moore, who made the original Aug. 11 ruling, which stated that Munford was recruited to Massillon. Munford had played for Nate Moore at Cincinnati La Salle High School prior to Moore taking the Massillon job in 2015, and Bylaw 4-9-4, No. 8 prohibits a former coach from bringing a player from his old school should he take another job.

The Moores had assumed legal custody of Munford from his mother, MeLisa Thompson, in late spring.

Attorney Lee Plakas, who is representing Munford, Thompson, the Moores and the Massillon City School District, referred during his opening statement on Tuesday to a May 10 email exchange between Deborah Moore and a La Salle administrator in which she speaks of seeing no way Massillon can avoid the recruiting charges. That exchange came 15 days prior to the first meeting between Massillon officials and the OHSAA regarding the situation.

Deborah Moore had not originally been scheduled to testify at the hearing. However, the almost two-and-a-half-hour proceeding was recessed in order for her to be present Wednesday.

The bulk of Tuesday's portion centered on testimony from Munford, Thompson and the Moores regarding Munford's move to Massillon. All four spoke of the academic work done by Munford, as well as the help provided both in the building and at home.

A perceived sticking point with Haas appears to be why the Moores didn't avoid the recruiting charges all together by simply enrolling him either in Jackson Local Schools — the district the Moores actually reside in — or a private school such as Central Catholic. Such a move would've made Munford eligible immediately because he was not playing at the same school his former coach was at, thus rendering Bylaw 4-9-4 No. 8 moot.

Academic standards include two check-ins before season ends. If not met, will not be eligible to play this season.

This is only for a TRO. A TRO was issued to permit Toledo Whitmer player to participate in 2011;

After all the litigation was done a year later: Whitmer paid $50,000 to OHSAA and forfeited all games the player participated in

In addition to incurring $108,000 in legal fees.

Two of the most successful athletic seasons in Whitmer’s history will no longer count after the Ohio High School Athletic Association determined the school used an ineligible player on the football and boys basketball teams during the 2011-12 academic year.

Additionally, Whitmer will remit a payment of $50,000 to the OHSAA to offset about half of the cost incurred by the state’s governing body of high school athletics during the 17-month investigation it conducted concerning incoming transfers.
So this is just the beginning: if the OHSAA backs down, they will have been made complete fools.

And Toledo should be screaming bloody murder.

One difference between Toledo case and this one: Massillon BOE claims it is not paying the legal fees but "private donations" are paying for the litigation.

They are probably lying and will hide the legal fees in generic "contracts and services" bills.

or perhaps the Massillon Tiger Football Booster Club Incorporated, Chair of Fundraising Committee Alfred Crissey has some extra cash laying around:

Former Massillon Eagles trustee admits stealing more than $180K, awaits sentencing
