Saving (Gas) Money

Post by noreply66 »

If your team was to start a schedule to save on gas what would be the ten closes teams you would play?--Size doesn't matter

Right off I would say Logan would play

Lancaster
Nelsonville
Miller
Vinton County
New Lex
Fairfield Union
Trimble
Logan Elm
Berne Union
Canal Winchester

Might be a few in there that is closer

If I were to include the "closest" teams to Greenup County, then they would be as follows:

Portsmouth
Wheelersburg
Green
Rock Hill
Ironton
Raceland
Russell
Portsmouth West
Portsmouth Notre Dame
Sciotoville Community

fairview would be closer than Mason, Boyd, and Ashland though

Ironton could play; Cabell Midland
Spring Valley
Wayne
Huntington
Ashland
Boyd County
Russell
Portsmouth
Wheelersburg
Greenup County
Fairland
Rock Hill
South Point
Portsmouth West
Gallia Academy
All games would be no further than an hour away, and this would make a great
TRI-State Athletic league, something that maybe these schools AD's could get together and talk about, EH.
All schools are D-5 or bigger, according to OHSAA rankings, you could have 3 divisions, 5-teams in each playing a mandatory 3 game div. schedule each year
to keep the traditional rivals.
The RED, WHITE, and BLUE divisions.

New Lex
Logan
Eastern
Meigs.

All of these teams are within 50 minutes of Trimble, with a few only be about 20 minutes away

The MSL Buckeye is one of the better leagues for travel. Longest trip is 35 minutes over to Fairfield Union.

East would play

Portsmouth

Green
Valley
Notre Dame
Greenup
Northwest
Wheelersburg
Minford
Oak Hill or Raceland

So we would win maybe 5-6 games at most a year or two
