Are push presses good for football players?

Post by boogerred »

I have gotten some responses on the power cleaning topic, so I figured I would see what everyone thinks about push pressing.

I think they can be good. Like was said above you gotta preach proper form. I think they can help because you get that explosive movement from your shoulders and hips and legs that is needed when coming off the ball in football.

What is your definition of a push press?

Kind of like a standing cheating military press. Using the legs and shoulders/arm to lock the bar out above your head.

But not like in the jerk part of a clean and jerk.
